41-year-old Karen Rodger and her husband, Colin recently welcomed a set of twin girls into their family. This makes the third set of twins Karen has given birth to.

Having a set of twins means extra joy for parents. A mom and dad in Scotland definitely have their hands full.

41-year-old Karen Rodger and her husband, Colin recently welcomed a set of twin girls into their family on May 29th. The babies were delivered by caesarean section, one weighing over 5.5 pounds, the other totaling an even 6 pounds.

The newest additions bring the Rodger’s child count to six. Amazingly, the girls are the third set of twins Karen has given birth to.

The couple has four older boys, two 14 years olds and two aged 12. Karen stated “I just could not believe it. It never crossed my mind that it would be twins again, I just thought that just doesn't happen to people like me but I'm absolutely delighted.”

The chances of three consecutive twin births is said to be about 1 in 500,000.

Having just one set of twins was once thought to be exceptionally rare.

Women who are 37 and older have four times the chance of having fraternal twins, as they are more likely to release two eggs at one time.
