Climate change is a global phenomenon that affects pretty much affects all parts of our planet.

However, Australia’s Blue Lake shows no evidence of being impacted by climate change. Not only has it resisted recent events, it’s maintained a consistent state for over 7 thousand years.

Located southeast of Brisbane, the lake has been involved in a study devoted to the impact climatic change has had on the body of water.

The researchers agree that Blue Lake is a unique case. Among the reasons it stands out is its clarity, as the bottom of it can be seen through its approximately 32 feet of water.

The team also expressed awe that the lake has stayed steady even in times of significant environmental shifts, like the emergence of a drier climate some 4 thousand years ago.

Blue Lake is said to have resisted human impact, which is especially impressive considering it’s located in a namesake national park.

Camping is also restricted, but the area does offer several walking trails and promises great bird, goanna, and wallaby watching.
