THE BAREFOOT WINE BEACH RESCUE PROJECT RETURNS FOR ITS SEVENTH YEAR OF KEEPING AMERICA’S BEACHES “BAREFOOT FRIENDLY”

MODESTO, Calif. (June 1, 2013) – Barefoot Wine & Bubbly proudly announces the seventh year of its Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project, a partnership with the Surfrider Foundation, a grassroots, nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches. Since 2007, the Project has donated $1,000,000 to the Surfrider Foundation and traveled from coast-to-coast, hosting more than 100 cleanup events and removing more than 12 tons of litter and debris in an effort to keep America’s beaches “barefoot friendly.”

This summer, the Project will visit 15 beaches and rivers across the country where people can lend a hand – and a foot! – to improve the state of their local shores. Afterward, volunteers will be invited to an appreciation celebration organized by the Surfrider Foundation. In various cities, notable singer/songwriters will return home to perform for volunteers following the cleanup events. These “hometown heroes” include Lee DeWyze, Jacob Jeffries, Eric Hutchinson, Vicci Martinez and Ryan Star.

“In the beginning, Barefoot got its ‘footing’ with the support and affinity found in local communities,” said Brie Baltzell from Barefoot Wine & Bubbly. “We’re excited to bring these musicians back to cities where they have their roots for a day of service and celebration.”
