CGR Undertow - STAR TREK review for PlayStation 3

5 years ago93 views

Star Trek review. Shop CGR shirts & mugs! Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Star Trek for the PlayStation 3 developed by Digital Extremes and published by Namco Bandai. Star Trek is a third-person shooter with an emphasis on cooperative play. Captain Kirk and Spock team up to bring down an evil alien race, resulting in tag-team gameplay not unlike Resident Evil 5. The concept is never quite as well-realized as you'd hope, but two-player sessions is still where Star Trek is at its best. The game plays similarly to any duck-and-cover shooter—think Mass Effect or Gears of War. The problem is that Star Trek's combat is a fraction as satisfying, and its weapons are a lot less impressive. Thanks to dull gameplay and technical issues, Star Trek ends up feeling less like an intergalatic epic than another mediocre movie game. This video review features video gameplay footage of Star Trek for the PlayStation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
