Spanish medical workers go on strike to protest govt. healthcare policy

    by PressTV

Hospitals in Madrid have decided to go on a strike for the fifth time during the last month. The debt that Spain is facing due to the crisis has made the Spanish government take significant austerity measures that have included deep cuts in major issues such as education, pensions or health. In Madrid, the regional government has decided to privatize 6 hospitals plus other services in health centres hoping for a more efficient and cheaper management. This has provoked protests in the entire health sector.
