An alleged cell phone thief posts picture of himself on the victim's social media page.

There’s a fine line between a bold thief and a less-than-intelligent one. An alleged cellphone crook in Pretoria, South Africa reportedly uploaded a picture of himself online using the victim’s social media account.

A 20-year-old male, who is a science student at a nearby university is the original mobile phone owner. On May 16th he was in his car, stopped at a traffic light, when four men hopped into his vehicle. The culprits allegedly held a knife to the man’s throat and robbed him of his phone, clothing and money.

The police were notified and launched an investigation, but the victim got quite a shock when one of the suspects uploaded a picture of himself dressed in a tuxedo directly onto the victim’s WhatsApp profile.

Law enforcement authorities were asking the public’s help in identifying the thief.

Last year, a Boston man was arrested after he allegedly stole a cell phone and posted self-portraits to the 15-year-old female owner’s Facebook page.
