Two astronauts and a cosmonaut launched aboard a Soyuz spacecraft early Wednesday (May 29) en route to their new postings aboard the International Space Station.

Soyuz commander Fyodor Yurchikhin of the Russian Space Agency Roscosmos, NASA astronaut Karen Nyberg and European Space Agency astronaut Luca Parmitano docked their Soyuz to the ISS at 0415GMT Wednesday.

The trio joined Astronaut Chris Cassidy of NASA and Cosmonauts Pavel Vinogradov and Alexander Misurkin who arrived at the space station in March.

During the coming months the crew aboard the ISS is expected to conduct five spacewalks to prepare the complex for the installation of the Russian Multipurpose Laboratory Module in December. But on November 9, a spacewalk is scheduled to take the Olympic torch into orbit.
