Ce simulateur est inspiré du film du même nom réalisé par Michael Anderson avec Richard Todd et Michael Redgrave datant de 1954.
Le film retrace des événements survenus en mai 1943. L'Escadron 617 de la Royale Air Force avait alors lancé un raid aérien sur des barrages de la région industrielle allemande : une opération considérée comme un exploit à la fois humain et technique, en raison notamment de l'emploi des bombes à ricochets. Ces bombes devant être larguées à très basses altitudes, l'armée britannique avait perdu 8 des ses avions sur les 19 envoyés en mission.
Si vous avez vu le film,vous remarquerez que pour le vol et la passe de bombardement,ce sim est scrupuleusement fidèle à celui-ci (vu les possibilitées de la machine).

These bombs having to be released at very low altitudes, the British army had lost 8 as of its planes on the 19 envoys on mission. If you saw film, you will notice that for the flight and the master key of bombardment, this sim is scrupulously faithful to this one (considering possibilitées of the machine).
