Will Spiderman be making an appearance in The Avengers 2? Comic Book Therapy recently reported that Sony Pictures Entertainment was cleaning house and looking to liquidate some of their movie properties in order to focus more of their financial efforts on their electronics division. An investor by the name of Daniel Loeb reportedly delivered Sony a proposal that would have them sell off some of their properties, including Resident Evil and Spiderman! And Marvel fans went crazy! MCU audiences have been quite preturbed that Spidey has been long separated from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And in hearing these rumors, many fans hoped that this would be the big chance for Spidey to come back home to Marvel. Well, don't get your hopes up, because Aint It Cool News contacted Sony Pictures co-chair, Amy Pascal, who cleared the air on this and confirmed that the rumors are false saying the she would "never, ever, ever" let go of Spiderman and that they were all very thrilled at the work thats being done on the new movie. Comic Book Therapy later updated the story to clarify that the Loeb proposal wasn't to actually sell the franchises, but it would actually separate Sony's entertainment branch with an option for other investors to help finance. So, it looks like we won't be seeing Spider-Man join the Avengers team any time soon, if ever. So, was I the bearer of bad news for you all today? Or, are there any Spider-Man fans that think that Spider-Man's story is better told without the Marvel/Disney treatment? You all know the drill! Make sure you jump start the convo down below, and chat with us over on twitter, too, at ClevverMovies. Thanks for watching us here. Im Erin White, and I will see you in the next video.
