What if I told you that the highly anticipated fourquel, Jurassic Park 4, could actually become a remake? Well, if you're a hater of reboots, don't look at me, Im just the middle man. Actually, Sam Neil (who played Dr. Alan Grant in the original movie back in 1993) is the one leaking this interesting little tid bit. And in an interview, the actor told Capital Life that he probably would not be involved in the next film, saying quote "I'm told it's a big reboot, a total re-jig." Now, this is really interesting news, because just last July, JP producer Frank Marshall spoke to Collider on the topic, and actually confirmed that the story was going to quote "definitely [be] a sequel, not a reboot or remake."
We also just recently reported to you recently that production on Jurassic Park 4 was put on hold, after we had all been crossing our fingers for a summer 2014 release date. Now, this was a huge bummer but it seemed like the studio needed more time to perfect the story, which we all can appreciate I think. Universal released a statement about the delay saying that it would quote "[give] the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment." So, there are a lot of mixed signals going on here, and we're not quite sure who to believe. Perhaps Sam Neil really does have the insider scoop on the story, or maybe he just got bad information. Of course, the possibility of Neil not being in the fourth film doesn't automatically equal reboot. Keep in mind, both Neil and Laura Dern were absent from the original sequel The Lost World to return once again for part 3. So, anything could really happen, right? What do you guys think? If you're a post 1993 baby, and you have never seen Jurassic Park, make sure you run out tonight and get tickets, because the classic is back in theaters right now in IMAX 3D, and it is one of those movies you absolutely have to see. Give us your thoughts on all things "Jurassic Park" below, and make sure you give us a tweet about this story over on twitter at ClevverMovies. Thank you guys so much for watching us here.
