Lucasfilm is bringing Star Wars Rebels to the Disney Channel, and we have all the details! So, we recently said goodbye to The Clone Wars animated TV show, which ended right after Disney bought Lucasfilm, but now we have a new animated show that could give us that little, extra Star Wars fix until Episode VII arrives in 2015. Star Wars Rebels will be an animated, one hour special to air on Disney Channel sometime in the fall of 2014 before becoming a regular series on Disney XD. The show will pull its material from the time between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope. As you all probably know, there's a big gap between those two episodes, about 19 years in fact, and the pilot will tell the story of the life of the Skywalker twins after they were separated at birth until the time they reunite on the Death Star. This will be the first time that period of the Star Wars universe will be explored on-screen and promises to tell the action-filled story of the growing rebellion as the Empire secures its grip on the galaxy as they hunt down the last of the Jedi Knights. Lucasfilm, co-chair woman, Kathleen Kennedy is excited for the new Star Wars exploration saying quote "I think Star Wars Rebels will capture the look and feel and fun that both kids and their parents love about Star Wars." No word yet if we'll see franchise favorites like Han Solo, Yoda or Boba Fett, but considering Simon Kinberg will be writing the premiere episode and he's also writing one of the planned spinoff films and is a creative consultant on Episode VII, whichever characters do appear could give us some insight into who just may be included in the spinoffs. So what you're thoughts on this new pilot? And what storylines are you hoping to see during this huge gap? Leave us those opinions down in that comments section, and make sure you are following us over on twitter at ClevverMovies. Until next time, Im Erin White!
