LA opened up a 2-0 lead at 4:10 of the second period as Drew Doughty took a nice pass from Brad Richardson and drove a shot home at the top of the net. The Sharks then rallied for the tie after two periods and took a 3-2 lead at 8:56 of the final period. Then the Kings were awarded a two man advantage and Dustin Brown scores off a rebound for the tie at 18:17 and 22 seconds later Trevor Lewis scores off the rebound to give LA a 2-0 lead in this series.
Each team had 31 shots on net and San Jose dominated at the face-off margin by a 44-21 margin. The Kings turned up the pressure in the third period as they outshoot San Jose by an 18-7 margin and forced two Sharks penalties in key moments of the third period deep in the San Jose zone. Sharks didn’t give away the game it was the Kings who took the game with more aggressive play in the final period.
