Criminal trials can be a circus -- too many variables when it comes to determining someone’s guilt. If only we could read the accused person’s mind. Wait! Now we can -- in a way. Researchers have been working on ways to scan a person’s brain to determine if they are lying; certain areas of the brain will light up, depending upon whether or not the person is telling the truth. It's not perfect, though; the scanner can get a guilty reading if the person just imagines committing the crime.
