Hi everyone you're watching ClevverMusic's Best of 2011, and I'm Bridget Daly. Today we're breaking down the top ten singles of the year—numbers 10 thru 6. Number 10: Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People. The debut single started to get significant airplay on the radio mid year, and peaked at #3 on the Hot 100. It was recently nominated for a 2012 Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Number 9 is S&M by Rihanna. It was released on January 21 as the album's fourth US single, debuting at number fifty-three on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart upon the album's release, and peaked at number two. In April 2011, the song was re-released as a remix, featuring Britney Spears.
Number 8 is Moves Like Jagger by Maroon featuring Christina Aguilera. It was released as the fourth single for the group's third studio album, Hands All Over . It debuted at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100,[13] and peaked at number one. The song was first performed in June 2011 on an episode of The Voice.
Number 7 is Last Friday Night (TGIF) by Katy Perry. The fifth single off Teenage Dream, it reached number one on the Hot 100, like the four previous singles off the album, and spent two weeks in that spot. The song became Katy's sixth number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and her fifth consecutive number-one single, making her the first woman to take five singles from the same album to number one on the Billboard Hot 100, tying the record established by Michael Jackson 23 years earlier.
Number 6 is Give Me Everything by Pittbull featuring Ne-Yo, which was released on March 18 as the second single from his sixth studio album. It became Pitbull's first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. It marks Pitbull's first 3 million-seller as a lead artist.
