With all of the amazing triple A titles coming out and strutting their stuff at this year's E3, and let's face it there's a ton of them... like way too many, it's easy to forget some of the smaller titles that look equally interesting. I just wanted to take the time to spotlight two upcoming downloadable titles that debuted this E3 that probably got lost in the wash for most of you who have been taken in by the likes of RE6, Dead Space 3, Star Wars 1313, Last of Us, Assassin's Creed 3... alright you probably get it, there's a lot.
The first game I wanted to talk about is Lord of the Rings: Guardians of Middle Earth. I am a huge fan of mobas in general. Those of you who are friends with me on steam probably know that if I'm online I'm pretty much always playing Dota 2, so when I heard that there would be a Lord of the Rings themed Moba coming out I was all about it. I was a little iffy when I heard it would be a console game, as Mobas have never REALLY been set in the console space in a serious way, but after hearing the interview with Monolith, I'm definitely still interested. As far as the controls go, the standard four ability setup will be mapped to the four controller buttons, and aiming abilities will be done via a sort of "FPS" kind of aiming reticle. Again, a little iffy, but I'm definitely excited to check out some gameplay.
Secondly, a game I've personally been looking forward to for a little while now is Worms Revolution. This E3 they are debuting gameplay for the most recent Worms game, and I am definitely really excited to see Team17 going back to their 2D roots. I thought they got a little off track with Worm's ultimate mayhem, but taking it back to the 2D space is really exciting to see, especially with the new weapons, dynamic water, and physics objects being thrown into the mix.
So I want to hear from you guys. What are your posted anticipated games that maybe aren't getting enough shine at this year's E3?
