Hi guys! You're here at the ClevverTV headquarters in Hollywood, I'm Dana Ward. So we just got word via the much-anticipated Apple Media event all about the new iPad. The packed house got to hear about the new AppleTV -- including its 1080 support and a streamlined user interface, hear Siri demos in different foreign languages, get the deets on an improved iCloud that supports iTunes playlists as well as hear the impressive sales figures from Apple in 2011. But bringing it back to the iPad, it will be available on March 16 domestically (preorders start today) - with a starting price of 499-dollars for the base 16GB model -- depending on the model, retail price can increase up to 829-dollars. So basically, it's the same price as the iPad2 but for an improved device! In fact, we also got word that the iPad 2 has dropped in price to 399, in order to support education and allow more schools to afford the technology. According to the announcement, this iPad can have the option to act as its own Wi-Fi hotspot which is a plus. It will be just as thin as the last device but it now has retina display which basically means you'll get an uber sharp display with 3.1-million pixels or 264 pixels per inch. The latest version will have a new and improved iSight camera -- basically the same design as the iPhone 4S with auto-exposure and auto-focus. Some other features include HD video recording and voice dictation with a microphone button on the keyboard with support for US English, British, Australian, French, German and Japanese. It looks like it's the next-generation wireless with 4G LTE support, and Verizon and AT&T will have 2 different models. Consumers can get excited now because this represents the company's biggest rollout ever -- we're talking availability in the United States, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland and Japan. So these are just some of the major points announced initially at the media event, let us know if you're on board for the new iPad. I'm Dana Ward and we'll see you soon on ClevverTV, bye!
Alright so that is the latest for now. Let us know your thoughts about the new iPad 3 and if you're gonna buy it pronto. I'm Dana Ward and thanks again for checking out ClevverTV!
