Clarence Day (William Powell) is a Wall Street broker who likes to think he runs his household with a gentle iron fist. Vinnie (Irene Dunne) his wife, is really the head of the home. She is flighty yet manages to let Clarence think he is the boss. The Day’s have four sons who are all involved with many crazy antics and adventures. They are growing up and girls, college, and moving out are just around the corner. As the Day’s go about their everyday life, Mr. Day makes the comment that he has never been baptized. This causes the entire family to make it their mission to see that Clarence is baptized so he may be with them in heaven. In keeping with his personality, Clarence will not be talked into anything. How will the family convince Clarence that it is his idea to be baptized?
