    Minecraft Sells 4 Million Copies And Counting

The game which is still in beta has now officially sold more than 4 million copies! . Creator Notch announced that there are over 16 million registered users, of which, over 4 million or roughly 25% have bought the game. That represents a jump from 3 to 4 million just in the last 3 months. . The game is currently discounted as it is still in beta, and the countdown is on to the first ever Minecraft convention in Las Vegas called MineCon. Notch announced via Twitter that the convention is sold out. There will be building contests, costume contests, informative panels, and of course, the official launch of the full retail release of Minecraft. . In case you haven't played the game, it focuses on creativity and building. Players uses textured cubes in a 3D world to create structures and all sorts of other stuff. You can choose from Creative mode where you have unlimited resources to test your creativity, or Survival mode where you can take damage from monsters and environmental hazards like lava. Classic mode is also available to try out for free, so it is a good place to test out your building skills, but be warned, it hasn't been updated so you'll be missing out on cool new features. .
