- Check out our blog! Hello everyone and welcome back to Clevver Games, I'm your host Andrea Rene and 2K Games has announced that Irrational Games' BioShock Infinite is taking it old school, all the way back to 1999. . The game will feature a mode called 1999 Mode and it is designed to challenge players who liked the way games used to be played. That means, commitment to the gameplay and time spent developing skills to play the game. . Creative Director Ken Levine said, "We want to give our oldest and most committed fans an option to go back to our roots. In 1999 Mode, gamers face more of the permanent consequences of their gameplay decisions. In BioShock Infiinte, gamers will have to sweat out the results of their actions. In addition, 1999 Mode will demand that players pick specializations, and focus on them." . Ken called himself an old-school gamer and said he wanted to make sure that players like him would have an experience they would enjoy. He and his team asked fans on the BioShock website how they play their games, and he found out that many gamers like upgrade choices and making permanent decisions about their character. . This mode will feature both of those things, plus increased management of weapons, power, and health. Plus, it will be much more difficult to respawn, sending you to a "Game Over" screen if you lack the resources to be brought back to life. Do you guys even remember what a "Game Over" screen looks like? What do you guys think of this mode? Let me know in a comment below. . I'll bring you more information on BioShock Infinite right here on Clevver Games so make sure to subscribe to not miss any news. Thanks for watching, I'm Andrea Rene and I'll see you next time.
