It's Halloween week in the world of Gaga, and there's a lot of Gagalicious news coming your way! I'm Misty Monster, here's your weekly "What's Up With Gaga?" The first news this week came from Electronic Music producer Calvin Harris, who went on BBC Breakfast morning show and told the hosts that he turned down working with Gaga back in 2008. He said about Gaga's camp, "They sent me songs and I didn't really like the songs and that's ok." Well Gaga didn't think that's ok so she tweeted to him to set the record straight that she does produce her own music and she never reached out to him. So there!
After that this week, Gaga did a live chat on LittleMonsters.com where she revealed to fans that upcoming "ARTPOP" will have two volumes: the first being more "commercial" and the second "experimental" and may come six months after the first. Mother Monster also dished that she was inspired by Indonesian Little Monsters when penning the album during her tour in the region, where she faced conflict from religious groups.
Next, in Gaga news we finally learned what she decided to be for Halloween this year! So Gaga, the Queen of Costumes decided to dress up as her favorite past time: marijuana. She wore weed shaped pasties on her boobs, a green wig, green tutu and even a weed shaped crown. Via Twitter she dubbed herself: 'CANNABIS QUEEN'. This Princess High posted photos of her wild night in Puerto Rico celebrating with friends, and it looked like she had the time of her life. BFF Tara Savelo dressed up as her and she looked just like her!
Moving on, we saw an interview Gaga did with Britain's 'Stylist' and she revealed a new "ARTPOP" track! When asked about her thoughts on modern feminism, Gaga said she is a new-age feminist and revealed, "I actually wrote a song about it on my album, it's called GUY and it stands for Girl Under You." Oh, we love that irony! And we're so glad we now know what "GUY" stands for.
In the same interview, the media went crazy about words Gaga said about Adele when asked about her Body Revolution campaign. Gaga thought it was silly that news of her 30 pound weight gain was mixed with Election coverage and said it sets a bad example for girls. Gaga went on to explain, "Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it? She's so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match." We think Gaga has plenty of confidence to get out on stage and rock those crazy outfits every night!
The last bit of Gaga news this week is a report of her working with producer RedOne once again for the upcoming "ARTPOP". He told MTV News they've been writing songs together, "...with the vibe of different sounds, different kinds of productions". He wouldn't reveal any specific details about the songs, but he did say the goal is to "make history". Sounds to us like the bar has been set very high and we can't wait for 2013 to get here as soon as possible.
