Terry Silverlight has been the drummer in the Lynn Welshman Tentet for several years. The band, led by trombonist Lynn Welshman who arranged all the charts, has been congregating in Manhattan on a regular basis. The late, great saxophonist Gerry Niewood was a colleague in this band. This video was recorded at one of those "get togethers" in 2005. A more recent gathering with this band occurred on February 12, 2009, which Gerry had to sub out due to a performance commitment he had with the Chuck Mangione group in Buffalo, New York. Gerry was the victim of the crash of Continental Connection Flight 3407 that day. Terry Silverlight was invited to perform a clinic at Brooklyn College, where Morris "Arnie" Lang was head professor of the percussion department before recently retiring. He was also New York Philharmonic percussionist for 35 years.This is Mr. Lang's introduction to Terry.
