Le 29 février 2012, Télécoms Sans Frontières a inauguré son 6ème centre télécom communautaire dans le monde, à Miarinarivo, Madagascar.

Depuis 2009, TSF déploie des technologies de gestion de l’information et de la communication dans le domaine de la santé. Après avoir créé une application pour améliorer le suivi des patients atteints de la malaria en Thaïlande, TSF a apporté son soutien au Ministère de la santé du Nicaragua (MINSA) pour lutter contre l’épidémie de dengue à Managua en 2009, avec la mise place d’un système de suivi épidémiologique basé sur la technologie GSM. Aujourd’hui, TSF est encore aux côtés du Système de Services de Santé Intégral (SILAIS) de la capitale et appuie également le MINSA pour faire régresser la mortalité maternelle et améliorer le suivi épidémiologique de la région de Jinotega.

In addition to strengthening the government’s prevention system, TSF, thanks to funds from the 2006 IT Cup football tournament, has been able to extend its activities in Niger to more projects using information and communication technologies to the direct benefit of other NGOs, local authorities, and the population. The funds collected notably supported a long-term satellite-based communication centre opened on February 9th 2007 to support local and international organisations working with the most underprivileged people in the region of Dakoro.

After 6 months of preparation, Télécoms Sans Frontières and the organisers of the IT Cup inaugurated their project with the Association Zoramb Naagtaaba (AZN) in Burkina Faso.

Paul Margie, the US representative for Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) was in Haiti after the terrible earthquake. He discusses TSF's role in the relief effort in disaster zones, in particular in Haiti and what development and prevention activities can be done between emergencies.

The European Commission is providing a 30 million humanitarian aid to help people in the border area. One example of this help is a project with one of the European Commission’s partners: Télécoms Sans Frontières. The project is providing telecommunication services to displaced people in the transit camp of Chucha.
