Nokia N9 video review
MobileBurn.com - The Nokia N9 was announced earlier this summer as Nokia's new flagship smartphone. Unfortunately, its reign did not last very long, as it was usurped by the Lumia 800 Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone in October, and the N9 was discontinued. The N9 features some very interesting hardware and software design concepts though, and the Lumia 800 borrows heavily from the N9's hardware design. Nokia built the N9 out of a single piece of polycarbonate, and the curved Gorilla Glass display melds directly into it. It has no seams and no doors, and is very attractive, while being durable at the same time. The N9 runs Nokia's MeeGo Harmattan operating system, which is unlike anything else on the market. Requiring zero hardware buttons, MeeGo uses swipes and gestures to navigate the software. It is very smart and intuitive, and attractive to boot. It's a shame that Nokia has decided to discontinue development of it for business reasons. The N9 is available now in limited markets around the world, though not the U.S. or UK.More info: http://www.mobileburn.com/news.jsp?Id=15425

Samsung HM7000 Bluetooth headset quick review
MobileBurn.com - The Samsung HM7000 is a new small and light Bluetooth headset from the prolific manufacturer. It offers multipoint connections, dual-mic noise cancellation, and a carrying case/charging dock that triples the time in between charges. It also supports voice commands (which failed 100 percent of the time for me) and can be controlled with the FreeSync Android companion app. The app doesn't seem to be working all that well though, as I could not get any of its functions to work in my tests. Sound quality on the headset was clear, though it could benefit from a boost in volume. The HM7000 is available now with a suggest retail price of $99.99.More info: http://www.mobileburn.com/16791/news/samsung-hm7000-bluetooth-headset-to-land-at-radioshack-and-t-mobile-this-fall

Nokia N9 white MeeGo smartphone hands-on
MobileBurn.com - Despite its classification as a dead product, Nokia went ahead and announced a new version of the venerable N9 today, a white model with 64GB of internal storage. The white version is exactly the same on the inside as the black, cyan, and magenta models, but it eschews the matte finish found on those for a glossier front. Thankfully, Nokia kept the build quality the same, with a single piece of machined polyurethane making up the body of the phone. Nokia says that the white N9 will be available in the same markets as the other colors before the end of this year.More info: http://www.mobileburn.com/17238/news/meego-powered-nokia-n9-coming-in-white-this-year

LG Marquee (Sprint) hardware and software tour
MobileBurn.com - The LG Marquee for Sprint is the U.S. version of the Optimus Black that was released for global markets earlier this year. Though the Marquee has the same hardware as the Black, its software is much different. Instead of running Android 2.2 Froyo with LG's custom user interface as found on the Black, the Marquee features Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with Sprint's ID system. Out of the box, the phone has a very stock Gingerbread experience, with little to no customization by LG. The Marquee features the same 1GHz single-core processor and 512MB of RAM as the Black, so performance is fairly snappy. The phone's claim to fame is its 4-inch, NOVA display, with 700 nit brightness rating. One of the brightest smartphone displays on the market, the Marquee's screen can be easily seen outdoors in direct sunlight. The Marquee also has a 5 megapixel rear camera with 720p HD video capture, and a 2 megapixel front camera. It is available from Sprint now for $99.99 with a new two-year contract.More info: http://www.mobileburn.com/news.jsp?Id=16609

It is also the first LTE smartphone to be released by Verizon Wireless that costs less than $250 on-contract. Don't let its low cost fool you though, as the Breakout has a number of impressive specifications. It features a 4-inch, WVGA display and 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. There is a 5 megapixel camera on the back and a front-facing VGA camera. The rear camera lacks a flash, but it does feature 720p HD video recording. The Breakout runs Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread and features a custom interface designed by Pantech. The Breakout is available from Verizon Wireless now for $99.99 with a new two-year agreement.More info: http://www.mobileburn.com/news.jsp?Id=16661

Samsung Galaxy S II (AT&T) sample 1080p video
MobileBurn.com - A sample video recorded in 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixel) with the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone for AT&T. Like the other versions of the Galaxy S II that are available, AT&T's model records impressive video, with good frame-rate and continuous autofocus. It is not possible to zoom while in 1080p mode, but if you choose a lower resolution, such as 720p, you can zoom while recording.More info: http://www.mobileburn.com/gallery.jsp?Id=16421
Google Music Beta in IE9 Mobile on Windows Phone 7.5
MobileBurn.com - Windows Phone 7.5, aka Mango, offers a number of upgrades to Microsoft's platform, including Internet Explorer 9 Mobile. IE9 Mobile is a very capable web browser, as you can see in this demonstration of Google Music Beta in it. Windows Phone lacks a dedicated Google Music app, but you can access and play all of your tunes that are stored in Google Music right in the phone's browser. The playback continues in the background, and there are controls in the notification panel and lockscreen for play and pause. While it is not as ideal as a dedicated app for Google Music, it does get the job done when you are on the go. More info: http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=15422
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 hardware and software video tour
MobileBurn.com - The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Android tablet is the kid brother to the Galaxy Tab 10.1, and was originally announced at CTIA back in April of this year. Samsung is finally releasing it to market, and the final specifications have not changed since its launch. It is the same thing as the larger Galaxy Tab 10.1, but with a 1.2 inch smaller display. The 8.9 is powered by the now-familiar dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM that we have seen on many Android Honeycomb tablets. It comes in 16GB and 32GB capacities. Like the 10.1, the 8.9 is very thin and light, measuring only 8.6mm thin and weighing 447g. It runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb with Samsung's TouchWiz user interface. Interested buyers can pick up the Galaxy Tab 8.9 on October 2. The 16GB model costs $469, while the 32GB edition is $569.More info: http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=13633
Samsung Galaxy S II (AT&T) hardware and software video ...
MobileBurn.com - AT&T is the second major carrier in the U.S. to release a version of the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone, following Sprint and its Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch. AT&T's version is much more faithful to the original, global edition than Sprint's is, as it features the same 4.3-inch, WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) resolution Super AMOLED display and square corners as the global model. It is powered by the same 1.2GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos processor as the others, and features 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The AT&T Galaxy S II has the same 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, as well as the same 2 megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera will record 1080p HD video. Like the others, AT&T's model runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Samsung's TouchWiz 4 interface, though there are some minor differences between it and the version of TouchWiz on the Sprint model. AT&T will be releasing the Galaxy S II on October 2 for $199.99 with a new two-year contract. More info: http://www.mobileburn.com/news.jsp?Id=16420
