Love Song ~ Let Us Be One
Love Song was one of the most charismatic Jesus music-rock bands of the seventies. Love Song was founded by Chuck Girard, Tommy Coomes, Jay Truax, and Fred Field in 1970. Additionally, the earliest members included David Ingram on keyboards, Ernie Earnshaw on drums and Jack Schaeffer on bass. It was Schaeffer who came up with the group's name. Betsy (Smittle) is the daughter of singer Colleen Carroll Brooks and half-sister of the country legend Garth Brooks.This album “Rough Around the Edges” is predominately country ballads tinged at times with melancholy blues and rock, and was Betsy’s Atlantic Records (1994/5) debut, which unfortunately never really took off, and sadly is now out of print.“If I Don’t Stay the Night” & “Southern Wind” are both softer love ballads that blend well, hence this video. Slow Poke were innovative to the point of infusing country and rock into jazz. There are ten discs in the Natural Dreams series and these include nature’s sounds blended with brilliant music of many genres.
