CCM News - Hamburg.Mit der S-Klasse will Mercedes-Benz in einem hart umkämpften Automarkt Maßstäbe setzen - in allen Bereichen. Der neue Hoffnungsträger des Stuttgarter Autobauers kommt mit zahlreichen technischen Neuerungen - vor allem im Bereich Sicherheit. Dabei spielt das innovative Fahrwerk Magic Body Control, das Bodenwellen im Voraus erkennen und sich darauf einstellen kann, eine besondere Rolle. Außerdem wurde das Insassenschutzsystem Pre-Safe erweitert und kann nun auch dazu beitragen, Fußgänger- und Auffahrunfälle zu vermeiden - ein optimaler Rundumschutz von Insassen und allen Verkehrsteilnehmern. Außerdem setzt Mercedes-Benz komplett auf LED Beleuchtung und baut damit seine Vorreiterrolle im Lichtsektor weiter aus. Die S-Klasse ist seit jeher die Stilikone von Mercedes-Benz und zeigt sich in seiner Neuauflage sportlich modern und trotzdem klassisch mit dem Mercedes-typischen Gesicht. Der Innenraum ist nicht nur elegant gestaltet, sondern vor allem hochwertig funktional. Fast utopisch klingt die Effizienz, mit der die S-Klasse fährt: Innerhalb der vergangenen zehn Jahren konnte der Verbrauch je nach Modell auf rund 4 Liter pro 100 Kilometer nahezu halbiert werden.

The new flag ship vehicle from the German car maker is equipped with array of technical innovations, especially in the areas of safety and comfort. The all new innovative suspension, Magic Body Control, is a system that detects changes in the road surface and instantaneously adjusts the suspension to deal with whatever conditions the vehicle comes upon. Pre-Safe, the Anticipatory Occupant Protection System has also been expanded. It now helps the car to avoid collisions with pedestrians and of course other cars. Simply put, it's the most optimal and complete protection system for all that occupy the road. And announcing another first, Mercedes Benz has replaced every single light bulb in the S-Class with almost 500 LED lights. The S-Class has always been an icon of style for Mercedes-Benz, and this latest edition is no different. It's sporty, modern and still displays the classic Mercedes look. And the interior is not only elegant, but exceptionally functional.

A location normally used for customers that shop for and buy their top model, the Airbus A380. But the unveiling of the new S-Class is much more than simply presenting a new vehicle. Mercedes Benz wrote automobile history with the S-Class, more so than with any other vehicle. With that, the S-Class will continue to embody and symbolize top performance and design, an engineering marvel straight out of Germany. Whether with the seat belt, airbag or their intelligent assistant systems, Mercedes Benz introduced them first in the S-Class; and carmakers all around the world have since adopted them. For that reason, the S-Class has set a certain standard in the international car manufacturing market and now it is time to exceed those expectations. The S-Class also boasts an array of outstanding features, whether with style and comfort or equipment and components, all of which makes Mercedes Benz a top model and perfect alternative for business customers. And passengers will have the opportunity maneuver their seats into a vertical position and use an integrated desktop or work surfaces. German carmakers are constantly facing new challenges, especially with ever changing market dynamics. So to cope with the requirements that different countries have, the S-Class will be available with a choice of three different engine designs or power packages. In China erwartet Mercedes-Benz eine so große Nachfrage, dass erauch dort direkt gebaut werden wird.Weil China für die Autobauer auch weiter ein so spannender Markt bleibt, hat Mercedes-Benz allein für dieses Jahr sieben neue oder überarbeitete Modelle nur für den chinesischen Markt angekündigt. Und da man sich in China auch gerne fahren laesst statt selber zu fahren bietet Mercedes spezielle fuer diesen Markt eine Langversion der E-Klasse an.

The New York Auto Show is a busy time for smart CEO Dr. Annette Winkler. But she uses her short break to take a smart for two electric drive on a little tour around town. Starting this May, the e-car will be for sale in the U.S. Next, it's off to the Meatpacking District filled with boutiques, the Apple store and restaurants that will satisfy everyone's taste. The smart swiftly navigates through the neighborhood that is known for its high-line park that runs underneath the trendy Standard Hotel. Parking is scarce, but the smart fits right in to even the tiniest spot. New York is actively preparing for electric cars and wants to add 10,000 public parking spots for e-cars over the next seven years. And out of about 100 existing charging stations, one is located in the gallery district of neighboring Chelsea. It's there that Annette Winkler wants to plug in her smart fortwo electric drive while she takes a walk.
