Ratanga Junction theme park, the Wildest Place in Africa, is located at Century City in Cape Town, offering more than 30 attractions ranging from kiddie and family rides to thrill rides guaranteed to satisfy the most avid adrenaline junkies. One of the most challenging rides is "The Cobra", a suspended looping coaster which catapults riders from a height of 32m along 780m of track at up to four times the force of gravity and at speeds of close to 100km/h. Adding to the thrill of the ride is the suspension of riders beneath the track, feet flying free. The ride is not for the faint hearted. For the less brave why not try Diamond Devil Run, the runaway mine train ride, or the Bushwacker, the smallest coaster in the park. There are a number of water rides including Monkey Falls which has one of the highest drops in the world and the rapid river ride, Crocodile Gorge where you are guaranteed to get wet, very wet. Then there is the Slingshot, an ultimate thrill ride, which combines elements from skydiving and bungee-jumping. Flying three abreast, riders are strapped into a full body harness and hoisted 10 storeys to the top of the tower. Pulling their own rip cord, riders plunge in a 30m free fall towards the ground before swinging upwards in a 180 degree arc and then straight down again. The white-knuckle thrills and spills are just one element of Ratanga Junction. The other attractions are designed to entertain children, families, and those who prefer to take their thrills in more manageable doses. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of live entertainment and eat at one of the many eateries around the beautifully landscaped park.Ratanga Junction also offers a large and unique variety of opportunities for functions and can host almost any function you can dream of from 60 - 7000 guests. If you're looking for a great place to spend the whole day with friends, colleagues or family this is the place to be! Ratanga Junction -- The Wildest Place in Africa
Established in 1941, Robertson Winery celebrated their 70th Birthday in 2011. The winery had its humble beginnings in a charming missionary church on the outskirts of Robertson, and it's history is closely linked to that of the town. Robertson, established 1852, were named it in recognition and appreciation of the many services of Dr William Robertson, a Scottish minister who arrived in South Africa in 1822. During the late 19th century the worker community that occupied the land where the Robertson Winery now stands built a stone church and their congregation was serviced by missionaries. When Robertson Winery was established in 1941, the small church was no longer in use and the winery acquired the building for its winemaking and cellaring operations.
