RUGBY WORLD CUP http://ruggachick.com/http://twitter.com/RuggaChickhttp://www.facebook.com/RuggaChickhttps://plus.google.com/110779936436192452927/postsThe RWC is the 3rd biggest sporting event in the world! With the next one on it's way... I'm so excited, I can't wait! But do you know the history behind the RWC? Let me help you out :)Talks of the 1st RWC started around the 1980's. In 1983 the Australian Rugby Union and the New Zealand Rugby Union both submitted written proposals to stage the tournament. (The funny thing is that they were not aware of each other's proposals and sadly both were turned down)2 Years later a vote was held in Paris. South Africa who at that time could not compete, due to the sports boycott voted in favor of the tournament and the end result came down to 2 votes to 6.In 1987 it was time to crown the 1st Rugby World Cup Champion!!!Australia and New Zealand had the honor of hosting the tournament and after 32 matches the All Blacks became the 1st ever Rugby World Cup Champions! Since then there have been 5 more RWC tournaments and the 6th one is about to kick off in New Zealand. There you have it, now you know a little bit more about the RWC and how it started out. Be so kind and share your favorite RWC memory, just post a comment below :)

RUGBY TRI-NATIONS 2011: ALL BLACKS vs SOUTH AFRICAhttp://ruggachick.com/http://twitter.com/RuggaChickhttp://www.facebook.com/RuggaChickIN THE HEADLINES:http://www.espnscrum.com/tri-nations-2011/rugby/story/145116.htmlhttp://www.stuff.co.nz/5365364/New-All-Blacks-jersey/MY MATCH REPORT:We into the 2nd week of the Tri-Nations. So after the All Blacks lay down the challenge with that venomous Haka it was game time! The men in Black had no mercy for the Boks, they dominated play had loads of ball in hand and caused major problems for the Boks defensive line. Crockett was the 1st to reach the try-line and all-though Dan the man was off target, the tries were streaming in. John Smith bulldozed his way over, which might secure his captaincy for the next RWC... ESPN slammed this headline... All Blacks sweep Springboks aside. Well the Boks defense looked a bit better than last week and they managed to put a few phases together, but other than that it was the All Blacks game despite a few stupid unforced errors from both sides.

Then the newcomers face-off with the Force. All-though O'Connor might be a force to be reckoned with, it wasn’t his day. The Rebels STEPPED UP TO THE CHALLENGE and PROVED THEMSELVES! The Rebels might have got off to a slow start, with the Force dominating the 1st half... But the newcomers quickly took control when they ran in two quick tries early in the 2nd half. Then in South Africa... The Reds traveled to Ellis Park, to ...

SUPER-RUGBY 2011 WEEK 5 http://ruggachick.com/ http://twitter.com/RuggaChick In the Headlines: http://www.skysports.com http://www.3news.co.nz My Match Report: The Road is looking shaky for the Canes, they only featured for the 1st 20 min of this game! After that the home side thought them a rugby lesson and produced a superb spell of ruby when they dotted down 6 tries, to clinch their 2nd Super Rugby Victory. They might have got off to a slow start but the Reds are on FIRE!! By halftime they already had the bonus point in the bag and the only positive point for the Cheetahs were their scrums.Other than that the Reds ripped their defensive line apart, dominated position and used their Speed to run in 6 tries, securing that top spot in the Australian Conference! Blues Lock Anthony Celebrated his 50th Super Rugby game, but the Blues really had to put some effort in to clinch this victory and they started at Discipline! The Chiefs outscored them 2 tries to 1 and had the lead for most of the game, but the boot of McAlistar saved the Blues. This match was full of handling and tactical errors which lead to a kicking contest between Giteau and Beale, with 12 all at half-time.Then Brumbies hit back with a late try to level the scorers with 3 min on the clock, but some Magic managed to seal the win for the Tahs. Even though if was Nathan Sharps big day (editing: Nathan Sharpe's record-setting 137th Super Rugby appearance), the Stormer’s didn’t have any mercy and were on attack from the 1st whilste. The Force had their hands full whilst the home-side powered over six tries. The Stormers remain unbeaten and comfortably lead the South-African conference. Well the Lions brought the Bulls a game, but it was clear that the men in Blue were not the same team that lost a few in a row. They gave the Lions a go with their expertise in the line-outs and Morne happen to be back to his 100% strike rate.Elton Jantjies kicked a few monster penalties, but his side made curtail mistakes, which have the Bulls the upper-hand ...

SUPER-RUGBY 2011 WEEK 5 http://ruggachick.com/ http://twitter.com/RuggaChick My Match Report: The SHARKS and the CHIEFS kicked off Round five’s action in HAMILTON. The SHARKS got a reality check when the CHIEFS handed them their 1st defeat of the season. LAMBIE was the SHARKS only hope, but the main battle was amongst the forwards. It was a try-less game, but a penalty right at the end... SEALED the win for the CHIEFS. Then in Brisbane the REDS got things on with the new-comers The REBELS hardly featured in this game and from the 1st minute the REDS were on fire! 7 tries for the REDS, explains the amount of tackles missed by the REBELS, with CIPRIANI’S penalty being the only point on the scoreboard. Well the REDS outplayed and outscored them, good & solid. In DUNEDIN the HIGHLANDERS and the CRUSADERS gave each other a go! The HIGHLANDERS put up a huge a fight in the 1st half, all though it didn’t seem to be BROWN’S kicking day! The CRUSADER’S were fired up in the 2nd half and all of a sudden it was TRY-TIME!!! They wasted no time to dot down 6 tries... leaving the HIGHLANDERS with another loss! The CANES had a nightmare against the BLUES. The BLUES had the advantage for most of the game, but just when it looked like the CANES got back into the game, all hell broke loose... A Yellow card for the CANES captain in his 100th game and 3 tries further the BLUES walked away with a bonus point victory. The CHEETAHS got their act together when they gave the TAHS a whipping in SYDNEY to clinch their 1st win for the season. BRUSSOW worked his magic, to help his team out-score the TAHS! 2 tries to none and placed the home-side under huge pressure, ... which led to stupid mistakes. At Ellis Park the LIONS welcomed the FORCE One week up and the next week down for the LIONS... Whilst the FORCE finally secured their 1st win of the season. It was wet on the field, but the FORCE still went out to score 2 tries and both teams conceded a fair amount a penalties. A Yellow card for O’CONNOR ...

RUGBY: SIX-NATIONS 2011 - ENGLAND VS IRELAND http://ruggachick.com/ RUGBY: http://twitter.com/RuggaChick My Match Report: The FRENCH hosted WALES for the FINAL game in this SIX NATIONS ACTION JAMES HOOK quickly gave WALES a lead, but that was it! The FRENCH took the lead 25 minutes into the game. It was a nightmare 2nd half start for WALES or shell I say for HOOK and PARRA made sure that WALES were punished. All-though WALES tried to make a comeback late in the 2nd half the FRENCH defensive line was solid. A win for FRANCE lands them at number 2 on the log and WALES end on number 4. That’s it for my weekly Updates on the Six Nations, please tune in for my weekly updates on the other Rugby tournaments. Bye Now :-)
