The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee - Official UK Trailer
From all outward appearances, Pippa Lee (ROBIN WRIGHT PENN) leads a charmed existence. An anchor of feminine serenity, she is the devoted wife of an accomplished publisher (ALAN ARKIN) thirty years her senior, the proud mother of two grown children, and a trusted friend and confidant to all who cross her path. But as Pippa dutifully follows her husband to a new life in a staid Connecticut retirement community, her idyllic world and the persona she has built over the course of her marriage will be put to the ultimate test. In truth, the gracious woman of the present day has seen more than her fair share of turmoil in her past - an array of erotic misadventures, a diet-pill-addicted mother and the suicide of an exotic rival - until finding love and security in a family of her own. Embarking on a bittersweet journey of self-discovery, along with help from a new, strange and soulful acquaintance (KEANU REEVES), Pippa must now confront both her volatile past and the hidden undercurrents of her seemingly placid world to find the true sense of self which has always eluded her. By turns wry, humorous, and emotionally exacting, THE PRIVATE LIVES OF PIPPA LEE presents the complex portrait of the many lives behind a single name.
Robin Wright Photocall Jury Cannes Film Festival 2009
13 May 2009: Robin Wright Penn is at Cannes Film Festival as one of the ten-strong jury, who will judge the official film line-up. At the press conference, Robin talked about her feelings on giving awards: ”That’s funny, because the word “judge” to me is so negative because I believe why we’re all artists the way we are, of expression, we have a pulse and the way films and the lyric inside of the film touches that pulse will be different for all of us, and therefore I feel like we’re going to share what those mean to us. And we will maybe disagree on certain tones, but the beauty of it is to share what our heart is feeling. I don’t think it’s so much about who is better than who, it’s whose heart was beating faster, depending on the piece.

2008 Hounddog banned
The movie is "Hounddog" and the subject is child rape. The film and the age of the actress in it is causing a stir. 12-year-old actress Dakota Fanning plays a 9-year-old girl in the film. The movie opened Friday but you can't see it in Southwest Florida. "You know I didn't set out to make a controversial film," says Deborah Kampieier in an interview with CBS. The drama centers around a nine year old girl who is raped and finds a safe haven in the music of Elvis Presley. The group "Concerned Women for America" called it child pornography and wanted it pulled. The AMC theater in North Fort Myers is one of 300 theaters in the country who aren't showing "Hounddog". "It's taboo no one wants to talk about it," says Christine Kobie of Abuse Counseling and Treatment in Fort Myers. Kobie thinks the movie could help survivors or victims of abuse. "I think it should be mandatory for specific people and for specific age groups," she says. Kobie says the energy spent on stopping the film could have been used for a greater cause. "I think if they were to see it, it might inspire them to do something different with the actual problem going on," she says. Concerned women for America told WINK news their boycott was the reason AMC pulled the film. AMC says it was pulled as a business decision.

2008 Hounddog OK trailer
HOUNDDOG is a provocative Southern tale set in the late 1950's rural Alabama about a precocious young girl Lewellen (Dakota Fanning) and her journey into the beginnings of adulthood and her struggle for freedom from the abuse and repression that surrounds her. Lewellen lives with her stern religious zealot grandmother, GRAMMIE (Piper Laurie), but spends most of her time down the hill with her much-adored DADDY (David Morse) in his falling down shack. Daddy is wild and rough and brings home a STRANGER LADY (Robin Wright Penn) who has a mysterious history with him and comes and goes when his drunk and abuse becomes too much for her. But while she's around, Lewellen's longing heart reaches for the strange girlfriend and she attempts to seduce her with song.
2008 what just happened
Premise of the story follows veteran film producer 'Ben' (Robert De Niro), still chafing over his recent separation from his wife 'Kelly' (Robin Wright Penn), while having to deal with a deliberate arson fire set by red-lipsticked Brit film director 'Jeremy'. To Ben's delight, Jeremy makes some cuts to a film that promise to pay off big at the box office, but when the film is screened at Cannes, the increasingly unbalanced Jeremy has a shocking surprise in store. The cast of characters include 'Kelly', Ben's ex-wife and mother of their two young children (who has an affair with Ben's writer friend 'Scott'), 'Lou Tarnow', a powerful female studio head convinced that Ben and Jeremy's new movie is box office poison, 'Dick Bell', a Hollywood agent who is single, wealthy and neurotic to the point of incapacity, 'Zoe', Ben's gorgeous 17 year old daughter, 'Johnny', a Middle Eastern film producer constantly surrounded by beautiful starlets, 'Cal', a frazzled director, 'Dr. Montez', a female "separation" therapist, 'Laura', an ambitious young development executive, 'Abba Peterson', a glass-eyed film investor with deep pockets and 'Mary', a photographer's assistant who organizes a shoot of A-list producers for a Vanity Fair magazine spread.
