Marginalisierte Lebenskonzepte jenseits hoch entwickelten europäischen Wohlstands beschreibt Gregor Vanerian in seinem dokumentarischen Essayfilm über die Kultur der Roma in Serbien. Ohne Romantisierungen schildert er die Chancen und Lebensbedingungen einer ethnischen Gruppe am Rande einer Gesellschaft. ‘Die Idee ist zu zeigen, dass es trotz der der vorranschreitenden Integration östlicher Länder in die Europäische Union, immer noch Minderheiten gibt, die ihre tradierten Lebensformen bewahren. Diese Minderheiten sind teilweise nicht besonders daran interessiert, sich an ‘europäische’ Lebenskonventionen anzupassen. Sie bei ihrem täglichen Leben zu begleiten, liefert uns die Gründe für ihre Weigerung und versucht diese komplexe Problematik ein wenig aufzuhellen.’
