“Competing for attention & educating through creativity” was the theme of the 2011 Young Audience Seminar organised by Europa Cinemas in Bologna, Italy, as part of the Il Cinema Ritrovato Festival. Audience renewal and the use of social networks were amongst the wide range of subjects covered. 26 participants from 17 difference countries, all from Europa Cinemas Network member cinemas, attended the seminar.

Inaugurated by Mr Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister for Culture and Communication, the 15th Europa Cinemas Network Conference saw a new record of attendees when it welcomed nearly 700 professionals from 48 difference countries of Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia and Latin America to Paris from 18th to 21st November 2010. Al...ongside them, Wim Wenders, Claude Miller, Thierry Frémaux, Julie Gayet and researchers Olivier Bomsel (France), Gundolf S. Freyermuth (Germany) and Tom Troscianko (United Kingdom) took part in the event and participated in the debates. 12 European feature films were also screened as preview premieres to the Europa Cinemas Network members.

Europa Cinemas, réseau de salles soutenant la diffusion du cinéma européen, s’est entretenu avec Florian Deleporte, directeur et programmateur du Studio des Ursulines.Rares sont les salles en Europe à se spécialiser dans une programmation Jeune Public. Et cette salle parisienne historique a réussi son pari : faire connaître des films de qualité et participer à l’éducation cinématographique en montrant toute la diversité du cinéma national et non-national, films de premières sorties ou de répertoire.
