Second test of movement for the wing and feathers, using slightly more detailed geometry.
Mechanical Bird Landing
Sequence showing a composited 3D animation of a large imaginary mechanical bird coming in to land in a live action plate. From the short film "Trolley".
Reaction to Litter - Cinema version
A revisit to our old job, but this time to create a 30 second long version for the cinema. YEAH!
Matrix People Solutions, Process Outline.
A very stylised animation, outlining the processes undertaken by Matrix People Solutions in doing what they do.
Lightwave 6 demo, Year 2000
Another video from the event NAB 2000, showing off some of the way Lightwave 3D version 6 worked. They're now on to version 9.6 and beyond.
Lightwave 6, Year 2000
This is taken from a video from the large event called NAB, of Newtek demoing Lightwave 6 in the year 2000. Pretty amazing in its time.
Birmingham School Acting 2009
This is the 3D menus we created for the DVD of the Birmingham School of Acting's 2009 Graduate Showreel. They basically makes films of their graduates rather than just give them a piece of paper with a qualification, and therefore these films need to go on DVD. Fair play.
Powder Coating
Animation illustrating the powder coating process of a pipe, including macro view.
BSB
!w00t! Just for fun. Being part of the Sea Bass makes me feel like this!
3D Metal test render
This was a quick test of a randomly created 3D model, to check out some newer features of Lightwave 9.6, using the nodes shading system to create anisotropic reflections and specularity on the model for a nice brushed-metal look. It is a low-quality test render so the motion blur looks a bit crap.
Hills
A litle scene I was studying for and creating ovre the christmas period 08. This is an early version of work in progress. Camera is a bit jumpy but I didn't get much control over it.
Open University
We were commissioned again by Warblefly Productions to edit this video for the Open University. So, that is exactly what we did, along with some careful colour correction to sweeten the piece further. The client was pleased with the result.
Cquestrate
Animation sequence showing a method for removing carbon dioxide from the seas and the atmosphere. An open source project, please tell your friends. http://www.cquestrate.com
Niki Evans - Love Me No More (music vid)
This is a music video we have edited and graded for Niki Evans. She was an X-Factor contestant in 2007. We were very limited by the footage we received, but the client is happy now - and that is what is important!
Grrreen Design
This was a project commissioned to us by Birmingham City University. We wanted to create a piece which was different to their normal person-in-front-of-an-animated-background and so we wanted to create something more integrated. We took the graphics from their printed brochure and made this piece in After Effects with 3D layers, having shot the interviews in HD in front of a green-screen. The university appear to have been very pleased with this more integrated approach.
Live & Learn (HD)
This is full HD version of this video which we colour-corrected and graded for our client. After that we prepared files and exported so that this could be transferred to film. Yep, it's being shown in cinemas, starting with the IMAX in Birmingham on Friday 5th September 2008.
Live 'n' Learn (Compare before and after)
This video clip is just a demo of the results of the colour correction and grading applied to the original footage. Both are viewable together so you can see the differences. some are fairly subtle, but we worked with the producer to achieve what they wanted.
