A few weeks ago we mentioned a company called 45Drives that has a single server that holds, you guessed it, 45 drives equalling a whopping 180TB of server space in one unit. We thought that was pretty amazing, but we were TOTALLY blown away when they said they wanted to give us one for the data center in our new building! We'll be telling you more about this as we install it and start using it, but for now, thanks SO MUCH to the folks at 45Drives!http://www.45drives.com/
Expedition 38 crew members made up of Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kotov and Sergey Ryazansky as well as NASA astronaut Michael Hopkins successfully touched down back on Earth in Kazakhstan at 03:24 UTC in their Soyuz TMA-10M Spacecraft. They had undocked from the International Space Station a few hours earlier after spending nearly 6 months in orbit on Expedition 38.
Expedition 38 crew members made up of Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kotov and Sergey Ryazansky as well as NASA astronaut Michael Hopkins are now officially on their way home with the undocking of their Soyuz TMA-10M Spacecraft from the International Space Station. Undocking took place at 12:03 UTC. Landing is scheduled for 03:24 UTC.
We got the keys to the new building on Friday and today we're taking you through on a first look tour. We have a lot of work ahead of us to get things how we want them but this is where we're starting!
Command of the International Space Station was passed from cosmonaut Oleg Kotov to Koichi Wakata of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency during a ceremony on the orbital outpost on March 9. Wakata, who is now the first Japanese commander of the complex, will oversee Expedition 39, which officially begins with the departure of Kotov, NASA Flight Engineer Michael Hopkins and cosmonaut Sergey Ryazanskiy on March 11 in their Soyuz TMA-10M spacecraft. The trio arrived at the station in September 2013. Wakata, NASA Flight Engineer Rick Mastracchio and cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin will be joined on March 26 by three new crewmates, cosmonaut Alexander Samokutyaev, NASA’s Steve Swanson and cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev.
