Asobo Studio is a French video game development company based in Bordeaux, France, that was founded in 2002 by 12 experimented video game developers. The studio has developed 13 video games for both consoles and PC, including video game adaptations of Pixar movies: Toy Story 3, Ratatouille, Up and WALL-E. Asobo Studio also developed an open world racing game for publisher Codemasters named Fuel, which was released in 2009 and more recently, in 2012, Kinect Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure, published by Microsoft.

One of the key features of Brink is the level of character customization possible. There are exactly 102,247,681,536,000,000 possible character variations; this includes all sub-options such as clothing colors, voice packs and Body Type. With the Agents of Change DLC, there are even more variations possible. Most customization options are locked by default and must be unlocked by levelling up. The only factor which affects player statistics is the selected Body Type, all other options are purely aesthetic. Players will be able to create up to 10 characters, each character has both a Security and Resistance appearance.
