This is the last clip (Part 11) of our China - And How! adventure. It covers 10/24-27/2011. In brief, this clip covers: the Beijing Metro, the Back Lakes Hutong, the pandas of the Beijing Zoo, a brief stop at a pearl factory and showroom, the Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden City. Also, since we didn't have time to revisit The Great Wall, some of our best photos from our last trip are shown at the end of the video. (I don't think Wall it has changed much since 1999 - though we and Beijing have. The city keeps spreading closer to the wall designed to keep invaders from reaching what once was the boundary of the Chinese Empire). Happy viewing, tony. Video was recorded in 1080 HD, 16:9 aspect and modified slightly for streaming.. There is never any charge for one of our video. I was there a few days ago, there where not so many people, so easy to take pictures. This temple is not so big though, the moss garden is famous and so is the story of Gio and a chieftain of the Taira clan, Taira-no-Kiyomori (1118-1181). Gio san was a great beauty who had renounced the world while still young after she had lost favor with Kiyomori.
Tenryu-ji is in the middle of Sagano/Arashiyama which is one of the most popular areas in Kyoto. The Zen Buddhist temple has an excellent Chisen-Kaiyu-Shiki (pond-stroll) garden that was laid out by garden designer, Muso Soseki (夢窓 疎石-1275-1351). Sōgenchi pond and Ishigumi (arranged rocks) in the garden are amongst the highlights of this garden.
Spent an afternoon at Niagara Falls in Ontario with my family. And my Panasonic GH2. No tripod - just laid my camera on the large rocks that line the walkway along the Falls using the 14-42mm stock lens and 45-200mm zoom. Music by Everlone via www.freemusicarchive.org. Visit www.DanPerezFilms.com
There was also an “Komachi Odori” or (young ladies' dance) dance group during the Tanabata Festival at Shiramine Shrine (白峯神宮) in Kyoto! The dance traces its origins all the way back to Tokugawa Iemitsu. When he went up to Kyoto in the 11th year of Kanei (1634), the young ladies of the town in Kyoto welcomed him, and danced around the streets of Kyoto in the Tanabata night (July 7th); this is the origin of the Komachi-odori.
We have never been that close from discovering the lost city of Païtiti! After a difficult exploratory campaign in 2011 During which one Thierry's team reached the heart of the Sanctuary of Megantoni, the original land of the Matsiguengas, and discover a large agricultural complex in the Valley of Cusirini (or Teperachi), the French explorer is about to restart his journey. Where the mysterious stone roads of the Qhapaq Ñan lead to? They are similar to the ones discovered in Lacco, in the Amazonian forest. Since June 2010, Thierry Jamin is persuaded he has reached a location that it is very close from a « major achaeological site », lost somewhere in the North of the Department of Cusco. As per his assumptions, this site used to control all the Inca settlments discovered by Thierry and his group over the last couple of years in the valleys of Lacco, Chunchusmayo and Cusirini.

At any time of the year Mimurotoji has spectacular floral displays, especially its azaleas, hydrangeas and lotus blossoms, which is why it is known as the ‘Flower Temple.’ Situated on Mt. Myojo above the rapids of the Uji River, the beautifully manicured gardens cascade down the hillside to the river. The temple has long been associated with the literary world of the Heian era because parts of the Tale of Genji are situated in Uji. It is even said that this is where the fictional character Ukifune is buried!
despite the title of this film, which mirrors my initial experience, i do really really really love citibikes. more bikes means less cars (ideally), more active commuters, quieter city and generally a makes this place more civilized. i don't think i'll buy another bike, after this one it's citibikes for me. also i did sign up for a 1 year membership, even though i own a bike, just incase i am ever in need. find me on; TWITTER https://twitter.com/CaseyNeistat INSTAGRAM http://instagram.com/caseyneistat FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/cneistat TUMBLR http://caseyneistat.tumblr.com/ WEB http://caseyneistat.com/
