Nina Simone - Why (The king of love is dead ) LIVE
"Why? (The King Of Love Is Dead)", written by Nina's bass player Gene Taylor after the news of Dr. King's death had reached him. It was performed here for the first time. The song was heavily cut from the longer original recording, which featured a lot of Simone's monologue "Pourquoi? (The King Of Love Is Dead)", écrit par le bassiste de Nina Gene Taylor après la mort du Dr King. Elle a été exécutée pour la première fois. La chanson a été fortement coupé à partir de l'enregistrement original un tres long monologue de Simone. Lyrics What's gonna happen now? In all of our cities? My people are rising; they're living in lies. Even if they have to die Even if they have to die at the moment they know what life is Even at that one moment that ya know what life is If you have to die, it's all right Cause you know what life is You know what freedom is for one moment of your life But he had seen the mountaintop And he knew he could not stop Always living with the threat of death ahead Folks you'd better stop and think Everybody knows we're on the brink What will happen, now that the King is dead? We can all shed tears; it won't change a thing Teach your people: Will they ever learn? Must you always kill with burn and burn with guns And kill with guns and burn - don't you know how we gotta react? But he had seen the mountaintop And he knew he could not stop Always living with the threat of death ahead Folks you'd better stop and think Everybody knows we're on the brink What will happen, now that the King of love is dead?

Joe Tex - The Love You Save ...
...MAY BE YOUR OWN! Another brilliant performance and lovely ballad from Joe! THE LOVE YOU SAVE (MAY BE YOUR OWN) People, I've been misled and I've been afraid I've been hit in the head and left for dead I've abused and I've been accused been refused a piece of bread But I ain't never in my life before seen so many love affairs go wrong as I do today I want you to STOP and find out what's wrong get it right or just leave love alone Because the love you save today maybe will-l-l-l be your own I've been pushed around I've been lost and found I've been given til sundown to get out of town I've been taken outside and I've been brutalized and I've had to always be the one to smile and apologize But I ain't never in my life before seen so many love affairs go wrong as I do today I want you to STOP and find out what's wrong get it right or just leave love alone Because the love you save today maybe will-l-l-l be your own
Barbara Lynn - It's Better To Have It
Barbara Lynn 1966 ! True soul! Barbara Lynn (born Barbara Lynn Ozen, later Barbara Lynn Cumby 16 January 1942 in Beaumont, Texas) is an American rhythm and blues guitarist and singer. She played piano as a child, but switched to guitar. Inspired by blues artists Guitar Slim and Jimmy Reed, and pop acts Elvis Presley and Brenda Lee, she created an all-female band, Bobbie Lynn and the Idols. Singer Joe Barry introduced Lynn to producer Huey Meaux. Her first single "You'll Lose A Good Thing" was a #1 R&B hit and Top 10 pop hit in 1962 and was later a country hit for Freddy Fender. Soon Lynn was touring with such soul music greats as Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Dionne Warwick, Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, James Brown, Al Green, Carla Thomas, Marvin Gaye, Ike and Tina Turner, The Temptations, and B.B. King. She appeared at the Apollo Theatre, twice on American Bandstand, and even had her song "Oh Baby (We've Got A Good Thing Goin')" recorded by The Rolling Stones. She married for the first time at age 28 and had three children. While living in Los Angeles, occasionally appeared at local clubs. After her husband's death, she returned to Beaumont, where her mother lived, and began recording again.
The Temptations Vs The Four Tops
By 1983, The Tops had rejoined Motown, and were featured on the company's television special Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever. One of the highlights of the show was a battle-of-the-bands between The Tops and The Temptations, patterned after similar competitions Berry Gordy had staged during the 1960s. Levi Stubbs and Temptation Otis Williams decided the Temptations/Tops battle would be a good one to take on the road, and both groups began a semi-regular joint tour; as of 2005, the two groups continue to play dates together.

This has got to be the one song that young and old will remember Louis Armstrong for, especially those who remember the fact Louis sang it around the time of the Vietnamese war.
AMY WINEHOUSE Rehab official
