Nick grew up in Napier in New Zealand's sunny Hawkes Bay. He was exposed to music from a very early stage. His mother Tira was his original source of musical knowledge. She taught him to sing and to play a range of instruments including piano, saxophone, clarinet and guitar. His father, Aperira, was also a strong supporter, as he collected musical instruments; including a piano accordion. Having these instruments around the house enabled Nick to build his familiarity with music, as well as his ability as a multi-instrumentalist.

Right from the start at primary school, Nick was heavily involved in music; whether the school choir, orchestra or band. At high school he would perform at assemblies and during lunch breaks, which helped to build his confidence on stage. It was here where Nick met other musically inclined students with whom he collaborated to form his first band, Salience, which went on to win a string of competitions such as 'Battle of the Bands' from 1995 onwards.

Flip Grater is a singer-songwriter from Christchurch, New Zealand. She plays guitar; delicate, country-flecked folk lullabies and dark and dirty little rock songs, and many things in between. She sings in a beautiful, versatile voice that can whisper a love song so sweet or wail a note so powerful that audiences are left spellbound. Her debut album, Cage For A Song, was released in 2006 on Maiden Records, and has since spawned three singles: 'Bedside Table', 'This Road Leads Home' and 'Everybody Else Is Busy Mess'.

Flip's profile in New Zealand is on the rise, having shared the stage with international artistsBen Lee, The Shins, Steve Wynn & the Miracle 3 and Gina Villalobos as well as New Zealand's premiere artists Anika Moa, The Phoenix Foundation, SJD, Lucid 3, Gramsci,Autozamm, James and Donald Reid, and Dave Dobbyn.

A solo tour of New Zealand in October and November of 2006 saw Flip travelling around the country, playing dozens of shows and collecting vegetarian recipes for 'The Cookbook Tour' book, which was released on Maiden Records in August 2007.
She has travelled twice to the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, performing at the festival and live to air on KUT FM and KLBJ FM.

Artisan Guns are a young and rising four piece band straight out of East Auckland. The band comprises of Matthew Hope - vocals and guitar, Reuben Stephens - bass and harmonies, Alex Freer - drums and Jonathan Pearce - guitar and keys. The band formed in their last days of college, in the middle of 2006.

Currently in their final years of university, the boys are investing themselves more and more into Artisan Guns. The band recently received a video grant for their upcoming single, "Autumn", which they are currently working on, as well as preparing for their upcoming mini-tour to support the release of their EP.

Kiedy chłopaki z Lans Vegas pojawili się na naszym balkonie wywolali nielada zainteresowanie wśród przechodniów. Lecz gdy przywdziali sportowe uniformy NRD-owskiej drużyny bobslejowej, wszystkie polskie dziewczęta porzuciły siatki z zakupami i poczęły bieżyć by ich wysłuchać. Ich zachwyt sięgnął szczytów, gdy zabrzmiały dźwięki ich niecodziennej muzyki. Szlagier "Deszcze niespokojne", który nomen omen rozpętał prawdziwe opady deszczu, sprawił, że redakcja BalconyTV Poznań nie może odegnać się od próśb dziewcząt o numery telefonów do członków bandu.

Pistol Youths front man 'Bradley Hanan Carter' admired the conception of Ben Gibbard's "The Postal Service' so much it inspired him to get together some friends and start his own long distance project across the internet.
After releasing the bands first EP "Smiling Can Backfire" in 2007 Carter invited the other members of Pistol Youth to come visit in LA so they could finally meet each other and mess around with writing music together in the same room... Some of the material from those early 2006 sessions has made it to the band's recently completed debut album 'My Own Private Amsterdam' with is due out March 2010.
Los Angeles, Auckland, Goteborg and Sydney is where you will currently find each member of Pistol Youth but what happens when its time to make a music video...? Well for "Problematic" the bands stunning first track from "My Own Private Amsterdam" Pistol Youth decided to fly the director Adam Jones out to each member armed with life sized cardboard cut outs of the band and simply took it from there.
Living apart will change this year thought with the band coming together in 2010 to promote 'My Own Private Amsterdam' the band will be base in Los Angeles.

Charlie Sheen is in hot water again with his old bosses at Warner Bros. Online tabloid TMZ reports that Warner Bros. issued a cease-and-desist letter to the actor and his team. The company claims that he stole images from "Two and a Half Men" to promote his new series, "Anger Management," at a recent TV convention.

Whitney Houston fans are keeping her memory alive through her songs. Her Greatest Hits album shot to number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 64,000 copies in just one day. Analysts predict a more significant jump in numbers next week, when Billboard releases their full week of sales figures. Most impressive numbers however, were the more than 887,000 digital downloads of Houston's tracks over the past week.

Adele fans need not worry about their beloved singer disappearing from the spotlight. Adele told Vogue magazine that she was considering a four or five year hiatus. But following her six-win sweep at the Grammys, she put the rumors to rest on her blog, writing, "Five years? More like five days!"

Finally, Meryl Streep had a happy Valentine's Day at the Berlin film festival. Reporters showered the actress with love - one giving her flowers and a kiss - while another gave her a Russian doll, each layer painted to represent her in a different film role.
