Interrogé par FRANCE 24, le porte-parole de la junte au pouvoir, Idrissa Chérif, rejette le rapport de HRW, estimant que l’ONG n’a pas collaboré avec la commission d’enquête de la junte. "Ils doivent s’en remettre à la sagesse de la commission d’enquête internationale que nous avons essayé de mettre sur pied, et attendre les résultats de la commission avant de condamner. C’est injuste et pas approprié. Nous appelons à la retenue."
