Curiosity Collects Second Mars Rock Sample official
Curiosity collects the second Mars rock sample.NASA has announced that the Curiosity Rover on Mars has collected a second rock sample for testing by drilling a hole in a rock and collecting the dust for analysis. The Mars rover took a break from activity for a month. Now that it’s back in action, drilling the hole in a rock named “Cumberland,” and collecting the dust sample was the first item of business. Curiosity’s onboard equipment will analyze the dust sample and send the data to NASA scientists. Analysis of the first rock sample taken in February showed that ancient Mars might have been a good environment to support microbial life forms.The latest rock sample is from a 2 point 6 inch hole in a rock that is about nine feet away from the first sample. Curiosity will analyze the dust in the hope of confirming the initial findings. United Airlines today will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the airline’s Terminal C hub facility at Newark Liberty International Airport, one of the world’s most modern airport terminals and the cornerstone of the original and largest New York/New Jersey airline hub. Travelers arriving and departing at Newark Liberty today will join United employees in an anniversary celebration between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the upper level United Airlines ticket counter, where customers will have opportunities to earn prizes, travel discounts and bonus MileagePlus miles, and see the airline’s new uniforms for the first time. The airline is also setting up a temporary exhibit during the two-hour period demonstrating how air travel has evolved since 1988. Fox Family Gets Own Facebook Page official
A fox family gets its own Facebook page.Hundreds of thousands of cats and dogs have their own facebook pages. But how about foxes?A family of foxes – the mom and her three babies – that live on Facebook’s Menlo Park campus now have their own Facebook page. They already have over 10 thousand likes, including one of their first from CEO Mark Zuckerberg.Dubbed FB Fox, the page was set up by Facebook's marketing team member Alexis Smith.She said of the page’s creation, “It seemed like everyone was posting their own fox photos and I wanted a place where we could share all the photos together and honor the fox.” Dozens of photos have been posted to the page. There’s a lot of snuggling and frolicking, including one particularly heartwarming video of the babies playing amidst some flowers. Her best guess is that the mom and dad moved into the campus’ zen garden about a year ago to birth the children.The company’s facilities department keeps in touch with wildlife services to make sure the foxes are being treated properly.

A coyote covered in cactus spines is saved and released into the wild.Animals and sharp objects can often lead to heartbreaking sights.A coyote pup is lucky to be alive after having a run-in with a cactus in Arizona.85-year-old, Gwen Maxwell discovered the wild critter running across the street. Initially, she thought the creature was a dog, but soon realized it was a baby coyote, partially covered in clumps of cholla cacti.The animal’s face, upper body and back legs contained the spiky clusters. Maxwell contacted a neighbor for help and soon, maintenance workers from a nearby golf course arrived on the scene. Using pliers, the crew was able to cut the spines and cacti groups loose. The male coyote remained calm through the painful ordeal. Once all of the sharp thorns were removed, the pup ran to his mother and they took off together. Last year, a bulldog from Oklahoma named Bella Mae lived through a horrifying confrontation with a porcupine.The encounter resulted in her receiving emergency veterinary care for 500 quills protruding from her body and face.

A fatal hot air balloon collision occurs in Turkey.Cappadocia in Turkey is said to be one of the world's most beautiful locations for hot air balloon rides.However, in a recent tragedy, two hot-air balloons collided in that part of the world.Roughly two dozen people were injured while three passengers tragically passed away. Both of the balloons were carrying tourists as part of a trip where travelers get to view volcanic rock formations.One of the balloons rose higher than intended and struck the other balloon's wicker basket, which caused it to rapidly descend towards the ground. Besides one passenger who was killed, many others suffered from broken bones.Cappadocia is located in the center of Turkey. It’s about a five hour drive from the capital city of Ankara.The gorgeous landscape in Cappadocia makes hot air ballooning an extremely popular activity. Early in the morning, dozens of balloons take off so passengers can experience the sunrise along with the panoramic views of the landscape.

Why do they have to come to a beautiful place like this and spoil the area for the other visitors??? Some should have a bit more respect and consideration.

Say hello to healthy pizza.Dr. Mike Lean, a British nutrition professor, doesn’t believe that saying hello to healthy has to mean bidding adieu to pizza. To prove it, he’s been working with Eat Balance and has designed a pizza that’s nutritionally balanced and tasty. Making sure the pies had everything from A to zinc and kept that great pizza taste wasn’t easy, but he and the Eat Balance team ultimately solved the puzzle. To get to their goal, they had to take some unconventional steps, like adding seaweed to the crust and red peppers to the sauce. The pizzas are available in the UK, but Lean sees them being enjoyed much further afield. He’d like to see them go to Mars and plans to recommend a three per day diet of them to NASA. He may have a little more development to do, though, as nutritional needs in space are a little different than here on Earth. For example, zero gravity takes its toll on the bones requiring astronauts to increase their calcium intake. Then again, extra cheese might just make it even better.
