Tina Turner est la grande prêtresse mondiale du R&B et du soul. Aujourd'hui considérée comme la mamie du rock auquel elle s'est mise pendant les années 80, Tina Turner est au sommet des charts. Anna Mae Bullock est née dans le Tennessee en 1938 où elle passe son enfance. Elle n'a que seize ans lorsqu'elle entame sa carrière de chanteuse dans des clubs R&B. Deux ans plus tard, elle rejoint le team de Ike Turner qui deviendra son mari. La lionne à la voix suave bouleverse le show, ses prestations scéniques sont hallucinantes d'énergie et de sexisme. Tina chante, se déchaîne lors de concerts soul légendaires. L'aventure Ike et Tina va durer jusqu'au milieu des années 70 où Tina quitte son mari qui a un comportement violent et la bat. Tina ayant acquis une certaine notoriété entame une carrière solo, enfin libérée. Pour célébrer cette nouvelle liberté en 75, Tina s'offre le rôle de la reine de l'Acid dans le film des Who Tommy. Tina Turner sort une dizaine d'albums en se laissant des petits plaisirs cinématographiques de temps en temps, Mad Max en 85. Elle revient en 99, bien qu'elle n'ait jamais vraiment quitté la scène, avec Twenty four seven un album pop rock.
