Yes its true, nextmovie,com took a tally of who the fans want to see take home a shiny gold guy on sunday, and here are the official results!

According to the fans, the clear winner of this year's Best Picture race is "The Help," which won in a landslide with 41% of the vote compared to just 17% for second place finisher (and presumed Oscar frontrunner), "The Artist."
.
ON the topic of the help, Viola Davis was the pick for the Best Actress Oscar, edging out "The Iron Lady"'s Meryl Streep by a final margin of 34% to 30%. "The Help," didn't totally take over though; Best Supporting Actress nominee Octavia Spencer, who is expected to win the Oscar was surprisingly upset by "Bridesmaids" breakout star Melissa McCarthy, who took home the title with 37% compared to Spencer's 33%.

In the race for top leading man, "Moneyball"'s Brad Pitt (28%) edged out "The Artist"'s Jean Dujardin (24%), while in the supporting actor category it was "Warrior"'s Nick Nolte (a whopping 64%) topping "Beginners" stalwart Christopher Plummer (20%).

One of the top movie composers of our time talks about one of the top movie directors of our time.

Hey movie buffs, I'm Tatiana Carrier and I know we all can't wait for The Dark Knight Rises. But one thing we haven't talked about is the music. Composer Hans Zimmer, did an amazing job on the first two movies, and this time around he wanted to try some new radical ideas. In fact, we're already starting to hear some of it in the trailers.

First thing obviously that stands out, is the chanting that's heard as the prisoners are being released from who knows what prison. In order to get all of these chants, they actually released a website in Germany asking for people to do the chant. Kinda cool right?
.
Hans is kind of a big deal, just in case you didn't know. One thing he was most proud of was walking into the WB sound studio and asking for their biggest orchestra to "try something out". He didn't want to repeat himself at all in this movie and really treat it as its own entity and not just a sequel. So after doing some experimental recordings, he was very happy with how it all turned out. In fact, when he went back to do Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows, the musicians were STILL talking about how interesting the Dark Knight Rises recording had been. I think it's safe to say that we can expect something amazing once again from Hans Zimmer when this movie is released.

But this isn't all, the internet has been at the edge of their seat looking for details on this new Batman movie, but director Christopher Nolan does a great job keeping everything close to his chest. Zimmer had commented on this mention

"And isn't that what we're suppose to do? We're supposed to go and surprise you!"
.
He goes on to say that people don't seem to want to be surprised any more. They want to know EVERYTHING! But that's not important to him and Nolan. They want to concentrate on the script, the ideas, and the journey of making something amazing. And that, I can respect. Even the first movie was an amazing surprise. We knew they were making a batman movie, but we didn't know what kind of movie it was going to be till we saw it...and we were blown away.
