Penetron’s capillary crystalline waterproofing reacts in the presence of moisture to form a permanent, non-soluble crystalline structure that grows deep within a concrete mass filling its pores, hairline cracks and capillary tracts to make it waterproof.
In the absence of moisture, Penetron components lie dormant. Should moisture recur at any time, the chemical action and sealing process repeats itself automatically and advances even more deeply into the concrete.
Penetron can be applied to green concrete or added as an admixture to concrete batching systems and becomes an integral part of the concrete. It will not wear away, crack, peel or delaminate. Applied to either sides of a structure, it will resists extreme hydrostatic pressure from any direction preventing waterborne ingress of aggressive chemicals, groundwater or chlorides that attack embedded reinforcing steel. Penetron is NSF 61 certified and ideal for potable water applications
Penetron saves time and labor as backfilling can begin immediately eliminating the wait time and additional excavation associated with traditional products. Its ability to increase compressive strength and to reduce freeze-thaw cycling, chloride ion penetration, early-shrinkage cracking, scaling and permeability helps to reduce long term maintenance and repair costs.
It is ideal for use in all concrete and concrete block applications including but not limited
to: reservoirs/water retaining structures, water/wastewater treatment plants,
foundations, tunnels, bridges, precast/prestressed concrete components, parking decks, concrete roofs, ICF and sandwich panel construction.
