Candy (1985)
A video of Baker's fine 1985 Sonet recording in Stockholm. The trumpeter is seen sitting comfortable in a big leather chair for this performance, joined by Michel Graillier on piano and Jean-Louis Rassinfosse on bass. One of the best parts of the tape are the conversations with bassist Red Mitchell. The two jazz veterans talk of the woes of traveling and they reminisce about fellow musicians. The tape closes with a pretty, impromptu performance of My Romance.
The U.S. release on Sony Video EP (now out of print) is woefully short at 30 minutes. The European version includes the complete "Candy" session, and is twice as long.
