Mania and Melancholia By Reid Baer Dr. Robert Moore told me once he thought I tended to run a little hot or maybe it was a lot - more red hot – and that my life’s mission might embrace something healthy in cool blue depression not as a victim but more like a conscious private decision. -

Chris Martin Talks Coldplay Album Title & Release
http://on.fb.me/loxDu6 - Facebook Fan Page! http://bit.ly/ClevverMusic - Click to Subscribe to ClevverMusic! Hey guys, you're watching CLevverMusic. Hey there, welcome back to ClevverMusic. I'm Bridget Daly. The new Coldplay album is closer than ever to being done, and Chris Martin talked with Ryan Seacrest all about the finishing touches. He spoke with Ry on his radio show, telling him that despite what he'd heard, it is not done. Chris compared the recording process to getting to the final of "American Idol, adding, "In all honesty I think it will be finished in about two weeks time. I really hope so, we've worked a long time. All I know is that we have tried as hard as we can on this one." As far as the album release, Chris joked that he hoped it wouldn't happen after 2020, but then said he thinks it will be released by the end of 2011. He did confirm that the title has been chosen by the band, and while Martin didn't give it up, he did say that it's hard to spell and that they'll reveal the name in 6 weeks from now! Pretty cool stuff to look forward to! So stay tuned for that. And in the meantime, head over to Facebook.com/ClevverMusic and click Like for all the music news you can handle. Thanks for watching! I'm bridget Daly and I'll catch ya later!

SUPER JIMENEZ
BALCONYTV.COM 6/11/06PRESENTED BY STEPHEN O'REGANThe seeds of SuperJimenez were sown amid the streets of Galway City, where songwriter Ronan Cunningham first set out to sew his own seeds among the fairer sex at University College Galway and escape the grim reality of the empty bed that greeted him each morning. Ronan quickly saw the potential in playing sweet, sweet music for the masses on Shop Street. Soon his catchy, irresistible smile, and tunes, garnered Ronan the reputation of a local Casanova and the honorary title 'Mayor of Galway'!Yet something was still missing for Ronan. He yearned for the beating of the drums and the timbre of the bass and (still) the ardour of a woman. And so he formed the band immaculate that would bloom into the rousing force of SuperJimenez and deflower the virgin pop territories of millenium Ireland. Now based in Dublin, SuperJimenez are Ronan Cunningham (Vocals; Guitars), Daragh Coen (Drums), Rhys Domagala (Guitars, Piano) and Nicholas O'Laoire (Bass Guitar).SuperJimenez write songs that are ornate and yet effortlessly accessible, an infectious fusion of indie, pop, rock, funk and more. The lyrics are filled with visions of the unattainable or unrequited and yet remain alluringly optimistic. In early April the band got off to a flying start with their brilliant debut single 'Helicopters' that scored a Top 20 hit and remained in the Irish Top 40 charts for five consecutive weeks. The single, released on Reekus Records, garnered a considerable amount of attention with plays on all the coolest radio shows, a "Rising Artist of the Week" accolade from Tom Dunne's Pet Sounds on Today FM, three stars from the Irish Times, a "Hot Hit" from the Star, and one of the five tracks recommended for listening to by HotPress who also described the band as "ones to watch" and their single as "the perfect soundtrack for the summer".The band has just finished recording their highly anticipated second single 'Beau' (To be released November 3rd) in London with Adrian Bushby (Feeder, Bell-X1, Jamiroquai) and have recently finished their Irish 'Helicopters' Tour in June that included dates in Waterford, Cork, Limerick, Clare, Galway, Sligo, Mullingar and Dublin. The band recently played a storming gig at this years Oxegen Festival at Punchestown Racecourse to a huge audience. This will be followed by an appearance at the prestigious Hard Working Class Heroes Festival (www.hwch.net) and MusicIreland '06 at the RDS in Dublin (www.musicireland.ie).SuperJimenez are talented and determined. Their music is magnetic. Are they set to become a frontrunner of the global music scene? They have it all: pop hooks, rock looks, cool books...www.superjimenez.comwww.myspace.com/superjimenezwww.pennelopejimenez.orgTune in tomorrow!!!

JUDE SHIELS
http://www.balconytv.ieBALCONYTV DUBLIN 21/02/2010PRESENTED BY TOM MILLETTJude Shiels is the son of Brush Shiels. But lets not hold that against him Whether you think of Irish icon Brush as a clown or a seer, a rock god or a cabaret artiste or just a crazy man with an amplifier soldered at 11, if youre talking about Jude Shiels as a guitarist, vocalist and songwriter in his own right, his das notoriety is the elephant in the room. So lets push Jumbo out the door right now and say that the aspects of Judesheritage that inform his own music are ones of attitude and approach - that indefatigable Brush-esque belief in seeing the glass as never less than half full;in seeing anything as possible; and in seeing it as being possible by roughly this time tomorrow, and back home in time for the footie on TV.Without Silence was largely written and recorded in the space of 6 weeks, butthat belies a whole lifetime of thought, care and experience leading up to it.Jude has absorbed and studied music of all kinds, playing second guitar in Brushs popular road band on the one hand and, on the other, exploring with great respect the recordings and styles of those he most admires iconic cool jazz vocalist Chet Baker; Duke Ellingtons alto sax man Johnny Hodges; pioneering jazz guitarist Charlie Christian (best known from Benny Goodmanssextet recordings); genre-founding European gypsy jazz stylist Django Reinhardt; and be-bop sax legend Charlie Parker. Add in the influence of British/Irish folk music and Latin-American rhythms and you get the sound of Jude Shiels an effortless-sounding three-continent fusion of musical history re-envisaged in a beautifully fresh, deceptively natural sound for today. The world has enough people who can copy Chet Baker, Django and Charlie Parker forensically and yet who deliver, in the end, very little of their ownpersonality. A perfect forgery of the Mona Lisa will always be impressive yet always valueless. What Jude has created on Without Silence is a whole galleryof new canvases, learning from the masters and taking their time-locked visions to unknown places of todays world, from the dreamy corners of his mind and the sunny fields of County Meath, Ireland, his home.Judes music is easy on the ear, it sounds familiar as a musical palette but bein no doubt that its a cunning blend a musical soufflé of influences that takesskill and experience to bind so effortlessly, but where the soft delight of the end result to the consumer is all that matters, not the knowledge of how trickyit might be to put on the plate. As Judes dad found himself over the course ofdecades, you can be as clever as Albert Einstein on your instrument, but the vast majority of people will always prefer simple melodies and easy entertainment to wild complexity. Jude has deftly managed a confluence ofboth. And you cant spot the join. Mood is everything in Judes music, and yet mood without content is useful onlyto those in the elevator business. His songs are a series of dreamscapes for the mind - little screenplays conjured from the clouds, gentle musings from an inquisitive, compassionate observer of life. The result is a sound world that is both instantly nostalgic - like Stan Getz andAstrud Gilbertos sunny bossa nova grooves from the 60s as much as Chet Bakers icy wastes of cool from the 50s - and incessantly new. Its like seeingsomething you only thought existed in black and white suddenly come alive inglorious Technicolor. Judes music exists in a pastoral, happy, sunlit place, notthe desolate, late-night, urban, monochrome bohemia of New York in the agebefore rocknroll. Judes music doesnt scream and shout for attention, but its unassuming, unpretentious atmosphere of joy, possibility and playfulness is a wonderful antidote to the hard times and bleak visions of the modern world. We could all use it.http://www.myspace.com/judeshielsTune in again tomorrow!!!

Justin Bieber 'Next 2 You' Behind-The-Scenes
Watch Behind-The-Scenes Video - http://bit.ly/m6Ko9P http://Facebook.com/ClevverTV - Become a Fan! http://Twitter.com/ClevverTV - Follow Us! Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out ClevverTV. Today on the show, we're dishing some insider scoop from the Next 2 You music video. Thanks to a new behind-the-scenes segment that Justin Bieber posted on his Facebook page, we get to be on the set and see what it was really like while production created the "end of the world" atmosphere. They're breaking plates and throwing things to dress the New York feel set. Next 2 You was actually shot on the Universal backlot and we get to learn cool tidbits about the shoot from the director and the producer. As far as the love goes, we get to hear from the love interests for both Chris Brown and Justin Bieber. CB is pretty happy with the rollback of his romantic scene with Shannon Elizabeth by saying "that's some real acting and shiz", and JB jokes to camera about the necklace he's giving to his love interest -- who just so happens to also be a big fan -- that it's 250k saying you go big or go home. According to the background actors, no one was really sure if it was an alien attack or an earthquake that went down, but there's a ton of choreography and stuntwork. We get to see the harnesses used for protection and learn that there's a very important safety meeting for the cast and crew, which is probably a good idea when cars are exploding. Basically, we get to see a 6-minute behind-the-video segment for the 2-day shoot, so if you want to see the special footage featuring Justin Bieber and Chris Brown, click the link in our info section. And remember that you can subscribe to youtube.com/clevvertv to stay in the know about all of the latest straight from Hollywood. I'm Dana Ward and we'll catch ya next time!

Stewart Brand: Turning Soviet Nukes into US Electricity
Stewart Brand: Turning Soviet Nukes into US ElectricityThe Long Now Foundation - Cowell TheatreBrand built his case for rethinking environmental goals and methods on two major changes going on in the world. The one that most people still don't take into consideration is that power is shifting to the developing world, where 5 out of 6 people live, where the bulk of humanity is getting out of poverty by moving to cities and creating their own jobs and communities (slums, for now).He noted that history has always been driven by the world's largest cities, and these years they are places like Mumbai, Lagos, Dhaka, Sao Paulo, Karachi, and Mexico City, which are growing 3 times faster and 9 times bigger than cities in the currently developed world ever did. The people in those cities are unstoppably moving up the "energy ladder" to high quality grid electricity and up the "food ladder" toward better nutrition, including meat. As soon as they can afford it, everyone in the global South is going to get air conditioning. The second dominant global fact is climate change. Brand emphasized that climate is a severely nonlinear system packed with tipping points and positive feedbacks such as the unpredicted rapid melting of Arctic ice. Warming causes droughts, which lowers carrying capacity for humans, and they fight over the diminishing resources, as in Darfur. It also is melting the glaciers of the Himalayan plateau, which feed the rivers on which 40% of humanity depends for water in the dry season -- the Indus, Ganges, Brahmaputra, Mekong, Irrawaddy, Yangtze, and Yellow.Global warming has to be slowed by reducing the emission of greenhouse gases from combustion, but cities require dependable baseload electricity, and so far the only carbon-free sources are hydroelectric dams and nuclear power. Brand contrasted nuclear with coal-burning by comparing what happens with their waste products. Nuclear spent fuel is tiny in quantity, and you know exactly where it is, whereas the gigatons of carbon dioxide from coal burning goes into the atmosphere, where it stays for centuries making nothing but trouble. Brand declared that geological sequestering of nuclear waste has been proven practical and safe by the ten years of experience at the WIPP in New Mexico, and he paraded a series of new "microreactor" designs that offer a clean path for distributed micropower, especially in developing countries.Moving to genetically engineered food crops, Brand noted that they are a tremendous success story in agriculture, with Green benefits such as no-till farming, lowered pesticide use, and more land freed up to be wild. The developing world is taking the lead with the technology, designing crops to deal with the specialized problems of tropical agriculture. Meanwhile the new field of synthetic biology is bringing a generation of Green biotech hackers into existence. On the subject of bioengineering (direct intervention in climate), Brand suggested that we will have to follow of the example of beneficial "ecosystem engineers" such as earthworms and beavers and tweak our niche (the planet) toward a continuing life-friendly climate, using methods such a cloud-brightening with atomized seawater and recreating what volcanoes do when they pump sulfur dioxide into the stratosphere, cooling the whole world.Green aversion to technologies such as nuclear and genetic engineering resulted from a mistaken notion that they are somehow "unnatural." "What we call natural and what we call human are inseparable," Brand concluded. "We live one life."

China's September Inflation Dips Slightly
For more news visit ☛ http://english.ntdtv.comFollow us on Twitter ☛ http://twitter.com/NTDTelevisionFollow us on Facebook ☛ http://me.lt/9P8MUnAlthough China's inflation dropped slightly in September, policymakers are faced with rising food prices. And many residents have no choice but to tighten their belts.China's inflation rate dipped to 6.1 percent in September, China's National Bureau of Statistics reported on Friday. But the fight against inflation is not over, as food prices continue to soar. One expert explains why the inflation rate dropped.[Chen Yuyu, Professor of Economics, Beijing University]:"The CPI -- we call it the consumer price index -- has decreased a bit in the past two months. Prices have dropped mainly because the price of many agricultural products has reduced in the medium-term. Another reason is related to the bigger picture -- since July or August, the US and European countries have had grim economic outlooks, so everybody feels uncertain about the economy's future. Therefore generally, prices fall."However, Beijing residents are pinching their pennies because of the high cost of food.[He Xiangchan, Beijing Resident]"There aren't too many difficulties, but prices are rising. So when I buy food, I have to pick carefully and buy less."[Li Siuqin, Beijing Resident]:"I think the price of meat has risen. So I'm eating less meat. The price of vegetables is okay, it hasn't risen much, I think it has even dropped a bit. So now I eat more vegetables and less meat."The price of food rose 13.4 percent in the year to September, and non-food prices rose 2.9 percent.Data showed on Thursday that China's import and export growth eased in September, with export growth hitting seven-month lows, as domestic and overseas demand cooled.

Hey hey guys, I'm Joslyn Davis for ClevverTV at the Hollywood studios. Word on the street is that Miss Miley "Pretty Cool" Cyrus herself has a new boytoy on the DL. Apparently she and Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill were spotted in NYC over the weekend after she hosted Saturday Night Live. According to our pals at Just Jared, the two sat at a table at the official cast after-party at Asia de Cuba on Saturday March 5th. An eyewitness said quote, "They were very flirty sitting side-by-side. They looked very casual and comfortable with each other." A source tells HollywoodLife.com that the two have been exchanging text messages since back in November when they met at the MTV EMA Awards. Insiders say Jared is super into Miley, and even shares some of the flirty messages with his friends. Seems like Followill has a pretty good sense of humor about the whole thing, since he just tweeted quote, "I read in Tiger Beat Magazine that they are uh pretty coy," in regards to the texting. So what do you think of Miley dating an older man 6 years her senior? Comment below, and head over to Facebook.com/ClevverTV and click Like. I'm Joslyn Davis, and I'll see you next time.
