Nell'ambito del programma dei festeggiamenti in onore di S.Eufemia, l'associazione "Gli amici del Cuore" ha promosso la prima edizione de "La Corrida...dilettanti allo sbaraglio", tenutasi il 9 settembre, in piazza Trieste, a Carinaro. La serata è stata introdotta da Marco Francesco Eramo, presidente dell'associazione giovanile, e presentata da uno dei giovani del gruppo, Andrea Aquilante, affiancato da due belle vallette. Durante lo spettacolo riproposte alcune scene della "Corrida" di Corrado e alcuni ospiti d'eccezione. "Un momento di intenso divertimento - ha commentato Eramo - che ha coinvolto piccoli e grandi in rappresentazioni dilettantistiche". La gara ha visto l'esibizione di circa 20 concorrenti, ciascuno nel proprio genere preferito: canzone, recitazione, improvvisazione, in un tempo limitato di circa 2-3 minuti, al termine dei quali, con l'accensione del semaforo verde, c'è stata la votazione del pubblico. Tanti applausi ma, come nella più classica tradizione della Corrida, anche sonagli, fischi, campanelli, preparati appositamente dagli organizzatori. (09.09.11)

The parliament in the Spanish region of Catalonia is expected to vote on a proposal to ban bullfighting later this week. Local media reports say those in favour of such a ban have the numbers they need to get it approved. The bill went to Parliament after 180,000 Catalans signed a petition circulated by anti-bullfighting group Prou! ("Enough"), which argues bullfights are cruelty to animals. Politicians are due to debate the issue on later and the vote is scheduled for Wednesday. If the law is passed, Catalonia will become the second Spanish region to ban bullfighting after the Canary Islands.
