Apricus Biosciences (APRI) announced today that it has signed a licensing deal that grants Neopharm Group exclusive rights to market and sell Vitaros, APRI's treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) and its formulation for the treatment of premature ejaculation (PE), in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Under the terms of the licensing deal, APRI will be entitled to receive up to a total of $4.35 million in up-front, regulatory and sales milestone payments for the products. The company will also receive tiered, double-digit royalties based on Neopharm's sales of the products for the duration of the agreement. Vitaros was approved for marketing by Health Canada in November 2010 as the first topical treatment for ED in that country. An application for the approval to market Vitaros in Israel is scheduled to be filed in the first half of 2011 and later, in the Palestinian Territories. Shares of APRI are up 3.43% to $4.22.
