O'Neill Evolution 2011: Slopestyle Showdown - The most thrilling & dramatic Superfinal ever!!!
The 2011 edition of the O'Neill Evolution will go down as one of the most significant milestones in the history of professional snowboarding. This was the year that four of the sport's best Slopestyle contest riders raised the bar by stomping trick after trick when it mattered most, and the year that three close friends - Seb Toots, Marc McMorris and Eric Willet ended - up on the podium after arguably the best and most thrilling Superfinal ever. And spare a thought for Belgian rider Seppe Smits - a score of 93.57 would normally be more than enough to win any contest, but on this special night his score wasn't even good enough for a spot on the podium.

O'Neill Cold Water Classic California 2010 - Highlights Day 4
The swell rolled into Steamer Lane, Santa Cruz today for the O'Neill Cold Water Classic California. The top names in surfing got into the water and put on a spectacular show for the gathering crowds. Jordy Smith (ZAF) and Nat Young (USA) - both previous winners at this competition - were battling it out at first light. In the first heat of the day local boy Nat took the victory. Jordy Smith, current ASP World Number Two, finished second. The standout of the day was Australian Dayyan Neve scoring an 8.23 and a 9.33 - and thus the highest heat score of the day. The battle for the $50.000 has commenced! Currently leading the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Series, Shaun Cansdell, was first in the water, coming out top of his heat. Fellow Australian and series runner up Stuart Kennedy didn't have a problem to pass his heat either.

O'Neill Cold Water Classic California 2010 - Highlights Day 5
The 5th day of the O'Neill Cold Water Classic California was full of drama, drama, drama! It started in heat 2 in the round of 48. With Jordy Smith (ZAF), Shaun Cansdell (AUS), Raoni Monteiro (BRA) and Roy Powers (HAW) together in one heat, it was definitely one to watch! Jordy Smith however had rolled his ankle at a charity event last night and as a precautionary measure ahead of Puerto Rico, pulled out of the heat. Raoni and Roy finished ahead of current CWC Series leader Shaun Cansdell and knocked him out of the competition!! Shaun's fate and that of the $50.000 was left up to second placed Stuart Kennedy (AUS) who was surfing later in the morning. And so the drama continued: Stuart Kennedy was also knocked out of his heat in the round of 48 meaning Shaun Cansdell maintains the Series lead, but has not quite won the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Series 2010 yet. His fate now lies in the hands of fellow Australian, Dion Atkinson who must reach the finals to secure a CWC Series win after making it through his round of 24 heat in the dying seconds. 19 year old Santa Cruz local Nat Young put on quite a show at his home break coming through top of both his heats. 20 year old New Zealander Billy Stairmand scored the highest heat total of the day with a 15.27. And the youngest competitor here, 16 year old Kolohe Andino (USA) impressed all with his aerial skills.

O'Neill Cold Water Classic 2011 - Scotland - ALL Highlights of the Finals
Lord Brent Dorrington (AUS) wins the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland 2011! Lord Jay Quinn takes second. Brent Dorrington raised the Highland Sword high above his head as he was knighted Lord Dorrington after winning the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland 2011. In addition to the title of Lord and $20,000 prize money, Brent also gets to bring home the treasured Highland sword. It was a close fought final in clean 4-foot conditions at Thurso East and despite a wave on the whistle, New Zealander Jay Quinn had to settle for second place at this 6 Star ASP Event. This second stop on the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Series 2011 was almost an all-kiwi final after Jay beat Alain Riou (PYF). However Brent pulled out a 9.0 and a 9.5 in the semi final to leave Richard Christie (NZL) unable to fight back, providing an Anzac final instead. Whilst last year's O'Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland was held in a freezing cold snowstorm, this year the competition wrapped up on a stunning sunny Sunday evening as competitors watched the action, laying in the sun on the cliff above the reef. 2011 has been one of the most spectacular years for the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland. The mobile event had no need to explore further than the world-class wave of Thurso East much to the delight of all the surfers who made the journey up to this remote part of the world.

O'Neill Cold Water Classic 2011 - New Zealand: Haere Mai Aoteaora - The Cold Water Classic Series is coming to New Zealand!!
The O'Neill Cold Water Classic Series 2011 continues with its promise to push boundaries to find new remote waves around the world in which to host a world-class surfing competition series. For 2011, the O'Neill CWC Series brings a 6 Star ASP World Tour event to Gisborne, on the North Island of New Zealand for the first time ever! Gisborne is one place in the world that is all too familiar with "firsts". It is the first city in the world to greet the sun every morning. And it was the first area of New Zealand sighted by the crew of Captain James Cook's ship, the Endeavour. And now, between March 23 and March 29, 2011, it will be the first stop on the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Series 2011. Sitting on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand, Turanga Nui A Kiwa, is known for its high quality surf based on the coast's exposure to a 180-degree swell window. Add to this an assortment of reefs, beaches, points and bars all facing different directions, as well as a lack of crowds due to its remote location, and this is guaranteed to be an epic kick-off for the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Series 2011. Following the launch in New Zealand, the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Series will travel to its northernmost destination - Thurso, Scotland, for the 6 Star ASP World Tour event from April 13 until April 19, before culminating once again at the 6 Star Prime ASP World Tour event, the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Series, California, in Santa Cruz, October 24-30, 2011.

Eight surfers today moved one step closer to being able to hang the Highland Sword on their mantlepiece and acquire the title of 'Lord' as the quarterfinalists were decided at the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland. Among them were two New Zealanders who have stood out throughout this competition so far; Jay Quinn and Richard Christie. But the two Kiwi boys are facing some stiff competition in the way of the French here in Scotland. Joan Duru, pulled out the second highest wave score of the competition with a 9.8 in his heat against Tim Boal (FRA). Joining him the quarterfinals for another possible one-nation final is fellow Frenchman, Vincent Duvignac who knocked out Kevin Sullivan (HAW) in their Round 4 match up. Alain Riou (PYF), Hodei Collazo (EUK), Leonardo Neves (BRA) and Brent Dorrington (AUS) make up the final eight competitors in the quarterfinals. In what is becoming one of the most classic years of this competition ever, the town of Thurso on the northernmost coast of Scotland awoke once again to clean head high waves and epic conditions at Thurso East.
