Here's a look at what's coming from them in 2012. . Hey guys, you're tuned in to ClevverMovies, your source for all things movie news. I'm Tatiana Carrier, and we've got the breakdown on the newest films to be released by Universal this year. Since it is their 100th anniversary, we'll expect that all their new movies will be bigger and badder than ever before. Here's a look. First up is Contraband, coming out this Friday. Mark Whalberg leads this fast-paced thriller as a man trying to leave the smuggling world behind with one last run. Big Miracle stars Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski in the true story of whale lovers joined by rival world forces to save a family of gray whales trapped in the Arctic. Look for this film Feb. 3. On Feb. 10, Denzel Washington returns to the screen in Safe House as a dangerous renegade from the CIA, joined by rookie operative Ryan Reynolds as they try to stay alive long enough to uncover who wants them dead. Dr. Suess' The Lorax is brought to life in 3D-CGI Mar. 2, featuring the voices of Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, and Taylor Swift. American Pie returns in American Reunion on Apr. 6. The characters we all love are back for their high school reunion. Jason Segel and Judd Apatow reunite for The Five-Year Engagement, a story of love that picks up where most rom-coms leave off, in which Segel and Emily Blunt's engagement keeps getting tripped up on the way to the aisle. This film is due out Apr. 27 Alexander Skarsgard, Rhianna, and Liam Neeson star in Battleship, an epic battle for Earth across the seas, land, and skies. Based on the classic board game, this film hits theaters May 18. On June 1, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron star in Snow White and the Huntsman, based on the classic fairy tale with the twist that Snow White is trained in the art of war. Chris Hemsworth co-stars. Seth MacFarlane hits the big screen for the first time July 13th as the writer, director, and voice star of Ted, Mark Whalberg's favorite childhood teddy bear who won't leave his side. The Bourne Legacy continues the world of Robert Ludlum's novels with a new operative played by Jeremy Renner, due out Aug. 3. Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton co-star. Oct. 7 brings us Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston in Wanderlust, a comedy about a couple who leave the big city and join a freewheeling community populated by characters who embrace a different way of looking at life. Sept. 28 you can check out Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson in Savages, the story of two pot growers who face off against the Mexican drug cartel who kidnapped their shared girlfriend, played by Blake Lively. The film also stars Benicio del Toro, Salma Hayeck, and John Travolta. Keanu Reeves leads a band of outcast samurai in a quest to seek vengeance on the overlord who killed their master and banished their kind in 47 Ronin, an epic 3D adventure due out on Nov. 21 Les Miserables, the successful stage musical based on Victor Hugo's classic novel is at long last brought to the screen on Dec. 7. Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, and Amanda Seyfried star. On Dec. 21, Judd Apatow spins off the characters of Pete and Debbie from Knocked Up, looking at how they are dealing with their life in This Is 40. Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Melissa McCarthy, and Albert Brooks star. Pitch Perfect is a comedy starring Anna Kendrick as a college freshman who doesn't fit into any clique until she finds one that she would never have picked: a cappella. This flick doesn't have a release date set yet, but be sure to keep your eye out in the coming year. Russel Crowe stars in The Man With The Iron Fists as a man who makes weapons for a small village which must defend itself in feudal China. Lucy Liu and Pam Grier co-star. Convinced Odd Jobs Gin are behind the bombing, the police continue their interrogation, when Shinpachi, who was staring at the clock the whole time, finally snaps. Baffled by his raging fit, the police finally let the trio go. Ignoring Gintoki and Kagura who vent their resentment in front of the police station, Shinpachi leaves the scene in a hurry. Left behind, Gintoki and Kagura come across an escaped convict being chased by the police. The man takes Kagura hostage and orders Gintoki to take the wheel in the police car. When asked by Gintoki why he ran away the man answers, “Because today is a special day…”

Everyone is gaga for this special lady and she is easily one of the most talked about newcomers to date. But truth be told, Lady Gaga's been working on her career for many years. Gaga, whose real name is Joanne Stefani Germanotta was born and raised in Manhattan and ultimately studied at NYU's famed Tisch School for the Arts. While attending the University, the songstress began attracting attention after penning songs for Britney Spears and groups like The Pussycat Dolls. Gaga's own career hit the big time with Her song "Just Dance." The hypnotizing track has taken the pop and dance music world's by storm! It's currently tearing up charts across the globe and fans may be surprised to know that the young singer wrote the track in only ten minutes. Music veteran and multiple Grammy award winner John Mayer admits to being affected by Gaga's music and says that after listening to the song you can almost smell it...not exactly sure what that means, but it's an interesting opinion. As amazing as Gaga's voice is, she is possibly getting more attention for her fashion choices and the clothes she chooses to wear---or NOT wear. Her tour is being referred to a a pant less tour. But Gaga says there is in fact a reason for her extreme approach to fashion. Rolling Stone reports that Gaga stated that her grandmother who is basically blind can only make out very light colors, like her skin and bleach-blonde hair. So, she says she'll continue to wear no pants so that her grandma can see her. Talk about putting your family first. After the success of her first video, Gaga is following up with the retro-inspired vid for her track "Eh Eh (Nothing Else I can Say)." In the video Gaga plays up several sexy, and of course pant less looks, and you get lots of references to her Italian heritage. The video is sure to catch the eyes of male admirers, but be warned that Lady Gaga says she has no time to date or even care about love. Her main priority is her art. So, at the moment you only notice a supernova when it happens, the instant it happens it suddenly peaks in brightness and then fades away. You don't know what happened before so you cant see the lead up to the big peak where you actually notice it."The AllSky Camera has captured real-time images of various lunar effects like this lunar halo or these moon dogs - both caused by moonlight refracting through ice crystals in the atmosphere.But this is what Campbell is really interested in - meteorites.[David Campbell, Astronomer]"I think they are just really cool -- they are just a bit of space."

After hearing the news, Chinese citizens welcomed the outcome, which promises no disruption in cross-strait relations. The election outcome is a relief to the Communist Party in Beijing, who was increasingly angered by the opposition's stance on independence.Chinese welcomed Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou's victory in Saturday's presidential elections and his promises of no major policy changes in cross-strait relations.Chinese newspapers in the Mainland on Sunday hailed Ma's victory, with the Communist Party's official newspaper, the People's Daily, supporting the outcome.During Ma's first term, China and Taiwan increased economic ties, trade and other links with the Mainland.Chinese citizens, like university student Ying Fangzhou, followed the election closely.[Ying Fangzhou, University Student]:"Everyone in our family is very happy. Last night, all of us sat by the television and kept the voting website open so that we could check it every few minutes. And then when we saw that he had a strong lead in the votes, all of us let out a sigh of relief."Another university student, Wu Chao, believes Ma's re-election will further expand close economic ties across the Strait.[Wu Chao, University Student]:"The biggest advantage for mainland Chinese residents is tourism [to Taiwan], and it's probably the same for Taiwanese residents in terms of tourism, and to visit relatives.
