Anticipation is growing about Adele's performance at the Grammy's this month. It will be her first public appearance since throat surgery sidelined the star. Singer Adele has yet another new accolade she can brag about. The soulful Brit was named Pop Artist of the year in a new poll conducted by gay radio station, Gaydar. The Rolling In The Deep hit-maker was crowned a gay icon after winning 55 percent of the votes in the poll, surpassing last years winner Kylie Minggue and beating out Lady Gaga, who brought in just 10 percent of the vote.

It's been a record breaking year for Adele and now the singer has crossed another milestone, selling 9 million copies of her album 21 in the United States alone. In the lead-up to Mother's Day, Adele's 21 moved another 101,000 copies putting the soulful Brit back in the #2 spot on the Top 200 chart. The Grammy-winning LP has now crossed the 9 million mark in sales here in the States.
