Le groupe techno dance 2 Unlimited naît en 1990 à Amsterdam en Hollande. Les deux producteurs Phil Wilde et Jean-Paul DeCoster, déjà connus pour le succès d'AB Logic, forment 2 Unlimited, duo composé du rappeur Ray Slijngaard et de la chanteuse Anita Doth. En 1991, la formation sort le single Get ready for this suivi, l'année suivante, de leur premier album Get ready. C'est avec l'album No limits (1993) que le succès est énorme. Les singles Maximum overdrive et Let the beat control your body sont des tubes. Le troisième disque de 2 Unlimited s'intitule Real things et comporte encore des singles à succès tels que The real one ou encore Here I go. En 1995, la sortie du best of Hits unlimited marque la fin du groupe. Ray Slijngaard dirige le label X-Ray et Anita Doth anime des talk shows à la télévision et à la radio.

Haddaway - what is love
Nester Alexander Haddaway est originaire de l'île de Tobago. L'artiste grandit à Washington avant de s'installer à Cologne, en Allemagne, pour faire carrière dans le spectacle. C'est chose faite en 1993 avec What is love, véritable hymne dance, qui atteint la deuxième place des charts en Angleterre. Le single suivant, Life, prend le même chemin et Haddaway triomphe partout en Europe. On le rapproche volontiers de groupes comme 2 Unlimited ou Cappella, même s'il affectionne un style plus sophistiqué. Corona - The Rhythm Of The Night
Le groupe pop house Corona se compose du producteur italien Francesco Bontempi, alias Lee Marrow, et de la chanteuse brésilienne Olga De Souza. C'est cette dernière qui emménage en Italie en 1990 et qui forme Corona. Francesco Bontempi est déjà connu pour ses productions Shangai, To Go Crazy et Do You Want Me sous le nom Lee Marrow. Le premier single de Corona Rhythm of the Night sort en 1993 mais ne connaît le succès qu'en 1994. Le duo sort ensuite le single Baby Baby en 1995. Leur premier album s'intitule Rhythm of the Night (1994) et leur second Walking on Music (1998).
