RADIO MOSCOW by Parker Griggs
RADIO MOSCOW "Mistreating Queen" "I Just Wanna Make Love to You" 2008 BORDEAUX programmed by http://www.allezlesfilles.com sound rec by BBB http://lacdo.org/ video rec by http://www.cinema-rock.com music by http://www.myspace.com/radiomoscow http://www.radiomoscow.net Named for the pre-Cold War precursor to the propaganda outlet Voice of Russia, Radio Moscow are a blues-rock trio from Ames, IA, with a similarly anachronistic retro feel. Where bands like the Black Keys (whose guitarist Dan Auerbach produced Radio Moscow's debut album) and the White Stripes play with a stripped-down, modern take on the old power trio sound, Radio Moscow hark back to the glory days of the power trio, when Cream, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and Blue Cheer roamed the earth and the power of the Marshall stack was unquestioned. Radio Moscow formed in Ames in 2004, a collaboration between two garage punk enthusiasts whose tastes had shifted into the heavy side of late-'60s psychedelia. Guitarist, singer, songwriter, and drummer Parker Griggs and bassist Luke McDuff approached Auerbach with a demo following a Black Keys gig, and the more established musician was impressed enough to both produce their debut album and to get the duo signed to his label, Alive Records. Although Griggs and McDuff recorded their self-titled first album as a duo, the pair hired drummer Mayuko to complete the trio for live purposes shortly before the album's release. www.allmusic.com
COLD WAR KIDS by Maust
COLD WAR KIDS "Something Is Not Right With Me" "I've Seen Enough" "Hospital Beds" "We Used To Vacation" Live At BT59 2008 BÈGLES, BORDEAUX programmed by www.allezlesfilles.com sound rec by BBB http://lacdo.org/ video rec by www.cinema-rock.com music by www.coldwarkids.com/ Fullerton, CA's Cold War Kids make music with roots that go deep and wide, embracing influences as diverse as Bob Dylan, Billie Holiday, Jeff Buckley, and the Velvet Underground. Matt Aveiro, Matt Maust, Jonnie Russell, and Nathan Willett began crafting their soulful, blues-inflected take on indie rock as Cold War Kids in 2004, recording demos in Los Angeles soon after they formed. After signing to Monarchy Music, Cold War Kids released their debut EP, Mulberry Street, in spring 2005. The band's unique sound and impassioned live act generated a buzz -- particularly from bloggers -- that grew with each tour and release. Maust's clean but eye-catching designs for EPs like With Our Wallets Full and Up in Rags and the group's website also added to Cold War Kids' mystique. They spent much of 2006 on the road with Tapes 'n Tapes, Figurines, Sound Team, and Editors and appeared at that year's Lollapalooza. That summer, they signed to Downtown Records, also home to Art Brut and Gnarls Barkley. The band's full-length debut Robbers & Cowards arrived that fall. Loyalty to Loyalty, which moved in a slower, bluesier direction, was released in 2008. www.allmusic.com

BOB LOG III"Boob Scotch" Live At Jonathan II 2006 BORDEAUX, FRANCEGUEST APPEARANCE BY KING KHANprogramed by www.allezlesfilles.comsound rec by BBB http://lacdo.org/ video rec by www.cinema-rock.commusic by www.boblog111.comwww.myspace.com/boblog111"Tucson, AZ-based blues-punk primitive Bob Log III first surfaced a member of the art-noise group Mondo Guano, later serving as one half of the duo Doo Rag. While appearing in support of Ween, Doo Rag percussionist Thermos Malling abruptly quit the tour, leaving Log to finish out the remaining dates as a solo act; wearing his now-trademark motorcycle helmet onstage for protection from crowds, he proceeded to hone a cacophonous, Delta blues-inspired noise distinguished by Latin-styled drum machine beats and vocals processed through telephone microphones. In the summer of 1998, Log signed to Fat Possum to issue his solo debut, School Bus; Trike, the second release in his ongoing "Vehicle Series, " followed a year later."www.allmusic.com
BOB & LISA (THE BELLRAYS) "You're Sorry Now"
BOB & LISA (THE BELLRAYS) "You're Sorry Now" Live At BT59 2008 BÈGLES, FRANCE programmed by www.allezlesfilles.com sound rec by BBB http://lacdo.org/ video rec by www.cinema-rock.com music by www.myspace.com/bobandlisarockhard "In case you didn't know Bob and myself have been playing music together for close to 20 years. We were friends that shared and interest in cooking and music (in that order.) We then married and in an attempt to stay married, we began playing music together. There is not much to say about musical backgrounds other than we both brought in where we come from, AM radio. That said we've gone on to start a couple of groups. One of which is the BellRays. One part of the BellRays that has always been there is our acoustic duo sensibility. Hailing from Riverside, most of our consistent duo work was in our home town. Aroma Cafe, See's Coffee and Back to the Grind were the main source of our audience base. For a long while we were more likely to play acoustic shows instead of electric BellRays shows. Anyone who remembers the 1990's will know why. Well once the BellRays started doing more electric shows the less time there was for the acoustic show. We are now so pleased that we have found away to nurture both and have embarked on our first tour as a duo as well as brought ourselves back to this very warm and vulnerable style. We hope you enjoy what we do here. We're just having fun and staying married! Play On! .." Lisa Kekaula www.myspace.com/bobandlisarockhard
THE DYNAMITES & CHARLES WALKER "Can You Feel It"
THE DYNAMITES FEATURING CHARLES WALKER "Can You Feel It" Live At BT59 2008 BÈGLES, BORDEAUX music by www.myspace.com/thedynamitesband programmed by www.allezlesfilles.com video rec by www.cinema-rock.com www.myspace.com/katthelambcinemarock A furious and unrelenting barrage of stripped-down, rhythmic R&B and swinging soul, Kaboom! is the aptly titled full-length debut by Nashville funk band The Dynamites. Bill Elder (a.k.a. Leo Black) is the troupes founder, bandleader, guitarist, primary composer, arranger, and producer. Hes the one keeping everything so damn tight here. But he insists that it is, not he, but his lead singer who is given special billing in the groups name: The Dynamites featuring Charles Walker. For soul veteran Walker, finding songwriter Bill Elder has been an epiphany. More importantly, hes found in Elder a songwriter that writes for his voice. This stands in sharp contrast to the days when he was asked to record songs whether they inspired him or not. I didnt have the songs that I felt were right for me. Now I can pick and choose the songs I want to do. When I was with Chess and Decca I did what they wanted me to do. The result being that Walker is more relaxed and at ease in the studio. I feel so confident now. I can remember being under so much pressure to try and get a hit record. Now Im just in there doing what I like to do. The Dynamites reignited Walkers spark and pushed the versatile vocalist to sing the hardest, grittiest funk hes ever made. The bands dynamic live show has already gained them opening slots for Galactic and Widespread Panic as well as appearances at Bonnaroo and the Austin City Limits festival. Critical acclaim for Kaboom! continues to pour in. The fuse is lit and The Dynamites are set to explode! www.myspace.com/thedynamitesband
